Unsure

Hi,

I am still new to the infertility medical treatments and charting. I had an HSG two weeks ago, tested positive for ovulation on an OPK and had sex the day after the procedure and agin two days later. Both during my fertile period. I am now having cramps, a runny nose and severe backache but don't know if these could be signs of pregnancy or PMS. My period is due in seven days and I am scared to take a pregnancy test.

Any advice? I can't stop analyzing every minute symptom I feel.

Hello!! I would suggest you do not test, As hard as that is. I used to test lots and it seemed to just upset me if it was negitive. You still have a week before you are due right, so most likely if you are pregnant it still will not show positive yet....hang in there. You have waited this long whats a few extra days. Best of luck to you I hope you get your BFP in 7 days!!!

i totally agree dont test yet. Has hard has it been be to test or not to test. Just wait until your af is due. A bfn will only upset you. If you are taking your temp they usually say wait until your temp has been up for 18 days straight then test. Hope you get bfp soon!!!

Okay, I caved and tested today. 5 days before AF so I bought the advertised promise on the box, 5 days sooner...I tested with two different and have faint lines on both. Now I'm afraid to be happy because years abck I had a false positive. Aarrgghh.

Congradulations!!! Sounds like your pregnant!!! I can see one false positive but if you tested with two and both showed two lines, I'd say it's a GO!!! Just keep testing and see if the line gets darker.

Oh my God! Two lines are two lines!! I was just about to post and ask you how early you usually get symptoms of AF, because I got symptoms WAY early after my IUI, so that's how I pretty much knew it worked! But then I saw you post that you POAS'd and it was positive! Doesn't matter if it's faint, it still means it detected hcg

I'd try to hold out a day or two and test again, but I'm pretty sure you'll still see the two lines

Well, it is a BFP. Because we have been (loosely) trying for 2 years and (feverishly) trying for one year naturally, I am convinced the HSG exam made the difference. The oil they used had to have helped the process along because we did our thing the day after the HSG exam and now I am in my 4th week.
