Hi, I have DOR as well...
My FSH is on the upper border - 9.7, and my AMH is only 0.3. My AFC with Clomid was only 2-4.
I had a speech from my RE about IVF with donor eggs...
We don't have any money for IVF so it's not an option for us. Our insurance pays nothing for infertility! I also against donor eggs in any case - I want my OWN baby!
We decided to try IUI + injectibles.
I am in 2WW now

Good luck to everyone.

KatKat,

Good luck to you on the IUI. It sounds very promising with all those follies. IVF is a very expensive process. I have borrowed off my 401K to finance. Luckily, insurance has covered most meds and even some of the cycle but I have already spent $12K and am not pregnant. About to invest another $10K but at this point, I don't even care about the money because I want to have another child so bad.

I want to hear some BFP's from everyone!!!!

I was also told that I have DOR. I really did not want to accept this, but got a 2nd opinion and they explained how this affects fertility, same as the 1st RE did. I was told to be thankful that I started trying so early, at age 26, because if I had waited until mid 30's my chances would probably be slim to none.

RE looked me straight in the eyes and said, "you need to do IVF". Nice....

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over two years. When I went to my RE for the first time in February '08, my FSH came back at 17. I was devastated and started acupuncture twice weekly as well as eating only organic food. Over the next year and a half, it fluctuated from 6.3 to 28.6 (last level in June '09). Throughout all of this, tried two rounds of clomid, had three IUIs on injectibles, and numerous natural cycles when my FSH was so high they cancelled my cycle. I switched REs and went on DHEA, L'Arginine, Aspirin, CoQ10, Folic Acid, Fish Oil and Greens Plus. After my third failed IUI in May '09, my next FSH reading was my highest. My RE suggested taking the summer off and just taking 800 mg of CoQ10 daily. He said he heard in one instance that this had amazing effects on a woman who had a similar history to mine (low antral count, high FSH, low AMNH). I started and low and behold, got pregnant naturally! For any of you trying out there, you might want to ask your RE about CoQ10. Good luck - don't give up!

Canadianmommy- Congrats on your pregnancy!!! Your story will give us all hope! I am already taking CoQ-10 but I think I am only taking 100mgs. I guess I need to up the dose.

HouseNRaleigh- You are so young. Don't give up hope!! What is your FSH and Antral follicle count?

I just found out I have low antral follicle count: 1 & 3. But my FSH (4.69) and Estridol (65.1) are in the ideal range.

Does that mean I'll be a good responder to the drugs or will I still be likely to just make a few eggs if we do IFV?

We are debating doing IUI with clomid (max 2 times) or just going straight to IVF. I'm not convinced IUI will be worth our time, but I saw someone here who had a success. So we need to figure out what we want to do.

Lisa72 - my FSH was 10.8, then I had another around 8 and another around 9. I have never had an ultrasound toward the beginning of my cycle (somehow I have managed to dodge those), but I have been responding to the fertility meds and usually have at least 2 mature follies on day12, along with several others not as mature. I hope that means that I will respond well to the IVF meds.

Hi. I don't have diminished ovarian reserve. It wasn't my particular infertility problem. Mine falls in the "unexplained" category. I do know that Chinese medicine, acupuncture, supplements, etc. have helped many women to conceive in your shoes. Perhaps looking into that may help you.

I was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve at age 38. I got heavily into Chinese herbs, acupuncture and meditation. I did eventually conceive.
