Hi Ladies,

I just completed my first IVF and it was unsuccessful. As I gear up for round 2, I've started reading the Infertility Cure and looking into other treatments to try to improve the liklihood of success -- or at least help me feel like I've done everything I can. Other things I've seen mentioned are human growth hormone (although I can't find any research on this), CoQ10 (similar lack of research), metaformin for egg quality (even in patients that don't have PCOS). I'm curious to know what other treatments and supplements other people have tried?

When I was seeing the acupuncturist she suggested to use royal jelly. This is suppose to promote egg quality and help with reproductive issues. You can read a lot about it online. I have also heard of really great success with IVF and acupuncture. It is stated that women who undergo acupuncture will produce more follicles than women who don't.

On a personal note. I started taking the royal jelly in May. Between May and now I have had 2 cycles one at 21 days and the other 24 days. I am now on CD27. I noticed when I was all the drugs from the fertility clinic my cycles would be 28 days. Since going off everything in April I had the short cycles. So far it looks like the royal jelly is helping me get back on track without the meds. HTH

I had poor egg quality so before my 2nd cycle I also starting taking Royal Jelly, acupuncture 2x/week, I also took Chinese herbs and tea (I was and still am a little skeptical about this but was willing to try anything). I heard more protein was good so I added spirulina supplements. I also took vitamine and had whole milk products.

I also switched from an agonist to antagonist protocl the second time so who knows what helped - or if it was just odds!
