HIGh FSH

Is anyone aware of what steps to take when you have a high FSH? Mine flucuates from 7 to 15. 15 was the highest. I have read so much negative stuff about high FSH and that it indicates ovarian dysfunciton and bad eggs and was wondering if anyone had success with IUI or IVF and which one is better?

I've heard there are lots of things we can do to help decrease FSH. I do acupuncture with herbs, diet changes (no caffeine, alcohol, dairy, wheat, sugar) and supplements like Co-Q10, wheatgrass shots, royal jelly, DHEA, l-arginine, exercise and decreasing stress. I haven't had my FSH retested since October when it was at it's highest at 28. My RE doesn't really care so much about the FSH and looks more at antral follicles and how I respond to stims (which I do). She says it will fluctuate a lot. I haven't had success yet from two medicated IUI's but my RE is hopeful that I will get pregnant with IUI's.

Keep positive and try not to let all the negative things you hear about high FSH get you too down. I just read the book "Inconceivable" that I highly recommend and I keep the faith that it WILL happen.
Just because your FSH is elevated does not mean you will not get pregnant.

I have high FSH numbers, which when I was tested fluctuated from 7 to 15. I had 3 unsuccessful IUIs with Clomid, a successful IUI with injectables, which unfortunately ended in an ectopic pg and then finally had my daughter through IVF. The nice thing about IVF was that I had a frozen blast left over that I was able to use to get pregnant with my current pregnancy. My RE used a higher amount of medication to stimulate my ovaries in response to the high FSH numbers. Good luck!!

Thanks for the hope

Thanks so much for the hopeful notes. I am getting my Preg test on 5/8, this week, and am hoping for the BFP but I don't feel pregnant or maybe I am just being pessimistic so I am not too let down if we get a BFN. Thanks again everyone and I will pary for you all.

I have an FSH of ~18 and appear to be pregnant after IVF. 4 rounds of AI did nothing for me.
