Hi,
Has anyone been diagnosed with this condition and has anyone overcome this defect?

LPD, or luteal phase defect, isn't so much a medical condition as it is a term that's hotly debated in some reproductive medicine circles. It refers to the phases of a woman's ovulatory cycle and whether or not they are in-sync for optimal fertility. Some physicians will use an endometrial biopsy to test for LPD and then treat with hormone supplementation. Others simply bypass the testing and head straight for medical therapy.

LPD cannot be referred to as a 'defect' since it's generally of a temporal nature. Women's hormones are constantly in flux, some more than others, and generally change (gradually or rapidly) over time. If a woman is diagnosed at one point in time with "LPD," that's not a permanent label.

Mine was treated with clomid to help lengthen and regulate my cycles. They threw in progesterone supplements just in case. Worked pretty well!
