Unhappy Im new and need help

Hi everyone.
Im new to this forum but not to Trying to Concieve. Hubby and I have been trying to have a family for the past three years. We have been told there is no reason why we shouldnt be pregnant so they put us in the unexplained infertility category. We have done IVF twice eith no success. On my first Ivf cycle I had one embie transferred and had progesterone support. When this support was taken away, 17 days past transfer I thought I was just getting my period but wound up in hospital vomiting bleeding and expelling yucky stuff from my vagina and I kept passing out. It was deamed I was having a very early miscarriage.

This brings me to this part in our story. I started spotting before my period 2.5 years ago sometimes 7 days prior. I asked my Fertility specialist if this was low progesterone but he said it could be but offered no investigations.

This is the only problem I can identify and the fact that I had pains on my right side but this was fixed when I had blue dye flushed through my tubes and thye surgeaon said it was blocked but didnt know why.

So here we are stuck in limbo and our relationship isnt what it used to be. The stress of seeing our friends start families is ometimes to hard to bear and we take it out on each other. Does anyone have any advice that could help us Im at a loss.....

Hey Nik, to the forum. Though i might not be the best person to answer your question regarding your unexplained infertiliy, i can say that every individual is different and may respond differently to meds. Though from what you are saying it might be low progersterone you might be suffering from. Did you write your and your DH's age in the post or i missed it out as it might also be a factor.

Wishing that u get pregnant soon. Good luck!!

Hey Nik - I'm curious to follow your post as I also spot before my period and have 2 failed IVF cycles. With both cycles I had 1cc PIO shots starting before my transfer and still spotted on day 25. The first cycle was a chemical pregnancy and the second was negative.

I have my follow up with my RE on Monday and my first question for him is about the spotting and what's causing it. I did ask him after our first failed cycle and he said that my progesterone couldn't be the problem since I was taking the injections.

It's nagging at me though and I don't like the fact that I don't have a solid answer on why it's happening. It's hard to think it's not affecting my IVF cycles.

Hi Nik!! I just wanted to say welcome to the forum!! And good luck with you IF journey. Sorry to hear that is has taken a toll on you and dh's relationship. I can understand totally. It is very rough on a relationship. You just both have to try to stay positive as much as posible. Have you tried asking your RE about support groups for couples? That could allow you both to open up to each other about the IF without argument.

I suffered from low progesterone too. My RE made sure that he watched my levels very closely and added extra progesterone when needed.

I wish you all the luck in the world in your IF journey. We are always here for you if you need us!

Welcome to the forum... It is truly a supportive place. I am fairly new here myself, and I wish that I had been here when going through my IVFs.

Yes, it is so frustrating to go through all of the IF treatments and not have a positive result. We were with our RE for two years before we had a successful cycle. In all, it took us four years to get pregnant (which seemed like an eternity to us). We were fortunate to have success on our 3rd IVF cycle. I am also newly pregnant from FET.

Are you happy with your RE? Do you have another practice in your area if you'd like to switch? When we had our unsuccessful cycles, I felt that our RE kind of backtracked a little ("We should've done this instead.."). It was frustrating. The RE changed my protocol as well as my husband's for our 3rd cycle, and everything came together. I was elated, but I also felt like "why didn't we do this the first or second
time?"

You will find lots of people on this forum who can share in everything that you've experienced.

I wish you lots of luck!
