anyone use lovenox w/o proven blood clotting?

Has anyone used lovenox even though they tested negative for blood clotting? One of the professionals I am working with said they have seen multiple successes with women with RPL using prednisone and lovenox together. My Dr. thinks since I didn't test positive I shouldn't take it.

I have had 5 chemicals and 2 1st tri m/c....

Would love your input.

Thanks!

Jen,

I am sorry for your loses.
I tried immune treatment with success. I took prednisone (for high cytokine levels) and progesterone starting 48h after ovulation and lovenox at cd 6. At a BFP we doubled the dose of prednisone and lovenox.
But we started ttc once my cytokine levels were within normal range (after 3 weeks of prednisone). I think the normal levels at implantation were really important since my loses were all early around 6-7 weeks.

If you need more help don't hesitate to ask!
Good Luck.

I used heprin as soon as I found out I was pregnant after 3 losses (two of which were twins). Are you sure they sent the labs out to the right place? There is a University that tests for it ~ I'll try and find where mine was sent, and the university tested positive for APS for me and the labs tested negative. Also, with APS it some times is only pregnancy related, so you would test negative unless you were pregnant.
I would find a doctor that would treat you as soon as you found out you were pregnant.
PM me if you want, I don't log on here very much!

This is true Jen, the Antiphospholipid Antibodies wax and wane, meaning you may test negative until pregnancy and then test positive at which point you may already be beginning to miscarry. I have tested positive repeatedly for APS only to have a negative Lupus Anticoagulent repeat test when my joints were bothering me. It doesn't matter. These antibodies can hide to flare up during pregnancy. Although you would be injecting blood thinners, heparin does not cross the placenta so wouldn't harm the baby any. BUT, if you do take the heparin and get a BFP, don't let your doctor take you off it, continue the heparin to the birth. I know a woman who used the heparin only to sixteen weeks and then suffered a loss at twenty three weeks due to clotting in the placenta. It is a committment that needs to be followed right to the end. I've had my own doctor who had NO experience with APS experiment with my treatment and I lost two pregnancies because of it. Insist on the immune treatment and then stay on it once you're pregnant. Best of luck
