Hi All,

I'm totally new to this forum, and was so glad to find something like this to support women.

Anyway let me tell everyone a bit about myself. I am 28 and my Dh is 30. We are newly married, but have been ttc every since we got engaged, which was in August. The major problem is that he works in another country so we are only able to try every couple of months. I track my period and ovulation closely and try to make sure I go during ovulation but no success. I am starting to worry be cause his ex was pregnant by him but got and abortion, so I don't think he has a problem, but I have never conceived.

I talked to my gyn and she tested my progesterone and said I was ovulating fine. She just told me to track and ovulation and keep trying and also not to bd everyday because he may have a low sperm count. I was just wondering has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice?

Welcome!

to the site! I think you'll find lots of support on here. What an awful situation to be in, with DH in another country. But try to feel a little better in that you haven't even been trying for a year and you're not able to bd that often due to the living situation, so it may not be a problem at all, just bad timing. Is there any way to live in the same country? I do know that there are plenty of stories of men who father children in one relationship but don't in another, either because sperm count and quality has changed over time or because of that old "unexplained infertility". I would DEFINITELY make sure DH has a semen analysis done before you undergo invasive testing - it's such a simple procedure but can completely rule out any chance that that's the issue. In fact, a lot of RE offices will let you just bring in the sample collected from home if you live close enough! Good luck on the journey!
