Bad Couple of Months

My poor DH... in the last three months he has been to hell and back :-(

His 15 year old niece had a baby
His close childhood friend died in a car accident...
...His brother was the one driving AND was arrested for vehicle manslaughter
His mothers boyfriend started becoming verbly abusive to her
His brother went into rehab
His pool team lost the championship tournament
His 17 year old niece got pregnant
The guy he works for started stiffing him
One of the guys on his pool team is missing, and has been for two weeks
His dad was hospitalized for two days
I got diagnosed with PCOS (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome)
His mom's boyfriend threatened to physically harm his little brother

The other night he told me he's having a hard time with all the stress and doesn't know if he can handle the stress of dealing with treatments right now. I'm so frustrated cause we JUST started treatments. I understand his stress level but I feel like we're finally making progress, and this is a really bad time to try and take a break. I'm working on getting him into some counseling but I don't know how to control my own emmotions while he works through all of this

Jenaby,
First I am so sorry for all the of losses your DH has been experiencing - as if fertility dx and treatments are stressful enough! We went through a similiar time about a year ago (but not quite that much!). It was really difficult for us too. I have nothing to say that will make it better - sometimes life is the pits! The best thing I have found to do is to vent your frustrations and emotions out to other people before talking with him about anything related to treatments . It also helpful if you two to take a "mini-break" from all the stress - like go play mini-golf or air hockey (or skinny-dip ) for the afternoon.

It certainly does sound like your dh is probably experiencing alot of reasons to be stressed out. I know it might be difficult, but your dh needs your support. My dh had one of his best friends pass away right in the smack middle of a cycle (the night I was supposed to do a trigger shot actually). It was really hard for me when he said he needed a break for awhile, but in the end it was best for both of us. Dh wouldn't have truly been in the spirit of baby-making for that time if we hadn't taken a break and I might have taken offense to that. You both have to be physically and emotionally ready for the toll IF treatment takes. I hope that you will be able to find a compromise that works for you....maybe trying naturally with the help of metaformin for your PCOS, or with the help of vitamin suppliments like fertiliblend. Give him time to heal and you will both be ready and raring to go in a couple of months time!
