New here and having a hard time

Hi! I just found this forum. I have a two year old son at home but went through a great deal of tragedy in order to bring a baby home. My first son was born by crash c-section at 41 weeks. He died 35 hours later. I then miscarried twin girls nine months later. Three months after that I got pregnant with my son who is now at home.

We waited to start ttc after I stopped nursing when my son was 20 months old and thought that with our track record of getting pregnant the first 1-2 months of trying that it would be the same way. Six cycles later and I had a chemical pregnancy at the end of August this year. My cycles were way off so I went to see a naturopath who put me on five different herbs. It stopped the bleeding I had had for six weeks but it was at that time I had an appointment with a RE who did an ultrasound and said that my ovaries are "much older than a 39 year old's" because I had less follicles than she expected. I was devastated. She went from "Let's monitor you a month to see if you are ovulating" to "I don't feel comfortable waiting at all, you should start treatment your next cycle." Turns out though that four of the herbs were reducing the blood flow to my uterus and ovaries so I stopped them right away. My FSH and Estradiol levels came back pretty decent but she wanted me to repeat them.

She told me I could stay on one of the herbs so I did until two days before my current cycle started last week and I had my levels drawn again. This time my FSH and Prolactin levels were abnormally low. Turns out that this one remaining herb affects your pituitary gland and suppresses the production of both of these hormones. Needless to say I'm off EVERYTHING now.

Had an HSG on Monday which was normal. Going in for another ultrasound tomorrow because my RE is trying to figure out why my labs are all over the place.

It just seems like every step of this process from the death of our first son to my low follicle count now has been heartwrenching. I just want one more baby to bring home to raise.

I'm am hoping to find help and support here because I'm really an emotional mess. Thank you for reading so far. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Red face

Hi to another 39 year old!

You have delt with so much tradgey it seems unfar that you should go though anything else. I too know what it is like to be an emotional mess. I am many days, but not today so I can offer some support!

I think all you can do is keep up your hope and get another opinion.

I just took my day3 bloods today and am wating to find out how old my overies are. We too got pregnant easily with our other children. Now my DH has been found to have a very low sperm count.

I hope that in some small way helps.

Thank you so much for all of your support! I had my ultrasound yesterday and for the first time had good news! I know my RE was toying with the idea that I was going through premature menopause because my 2 day FSH was 1.4 BUT my uterine lining shows that it is thickening and that means my hormones are working again

I have another ultrasound on Sunday to see if there's been any change. I have to say my CM has started so I'm thinking we're leading up to a big "O" - hoping that we get pregnant because of the HSG and we don't need to pursue further treatment!!!!!
