Unhappy Possible PCOS

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I thought I would share my story. I have a 4 1/2 year old son, conceived naturally my first month off of birth control. So, I figured when I wanted to try again after my cesarean it wouldn't be a problem...wrong!

We've been trying for over two years now. I am ovulating regularly according to my digital monitor, and conceived in July of last year and miscarried at 7 1/2 weeks, after seeing the heartbeat. I was devastated, but we started trying again right away. This month my period was 5 days late and I got a faint + the day before it was due, then all negatives and it arrived with a vengeance.

I finally went for labs last week and was told that my DHEA sulfate is high and I may have pcos. I have suspected hypothyroidism for years as I have 99% of the symptoms. I was told it was normal with a TSH of 2.2, but have read things that make me think that is on the high end of the normal range.

I'm frustrated and fighting depression over my inability to conceive. I have an appt. with my gyn on the 19th and I'm trying to get in with an endocrinologist who is booked until July...ugh, more waiting!

I'm so sorry - I'm almost in your same boat. My DS is 5 and he was conceived after 1 month of trying. I know now we hit the baby lotto with him as I have PCOS and it was pure luck that I even ovulated that month. I also got pregnant as a surrogate for my friends after one round of IVF. So I, like you, assumed it would be easy this time around. Yeah, not so much. I hope you can get in with your doctors soon and get the answers you need. Good luck!

I am in almost the same situation. I became pregnant with my beautiful son, 1 mo off BCP. When he was 8 mo, we tried again and conceived again after 2 mo of trying. That ended in m/c at 9 weeks. All of my testing is normal, hubby is perfect too. Oddly, I also had a c-section with my son. OB is great and RE (2nd one, first was awful) is really wonderful. It's been over a year since m/c and I still cannot believe this. We are post 1 failed IUI and now in the 2ww post follistim and timed intercourse. What's the deal? It was so easy the first time?
