Fibroids
Hi, its me again. Speaking of fibroids. Is anyone else getting a diagnosis that has anything to do with fibroids. I am 34 years old, have had a very large fibroid (outside of uterus) that grew while I was pregnant removed by myomectomy. My most current ultrasound is showing 2 very small fibroids (2.2 cm) that are within the uterine wall (not pushing on the uterus). Since they are small he is hesitant to take them out but wants to try some oral fertility drugs first. His feeling is that the uterine contractions that both bring sperm up into the f. tubes and that bring the egg down could be compromising the "natural" flow of things and bringing our chances of conceiving down. We are going to try the oral fertility drugs first for a few cycles and monitor closely, but he seemed to think that IVF would be the next step (skipping the other artifical means) because the chances of IVF working and sticking based on what they are are pretty good. Can anyone speak to fibroids out there? I am shocked to get a diagnosis like this when I have little or no symptoms.

I have uterine fibroids that were removed during my lap last October. My RE seems to think that I have endo coming back after that lap and probably cysts and the fibroids. Not sure what my next step will be, but he did want me to try Serophene before going on to IUI and IVF.

I can't speak to fibroids myself but my mother had them about the same time she developed endo. It was between my conception and my brother's conception. It took her another 4 years of trying before they realized that these two things existed, they did an exploratory lap and corrected the issues but it still took her another year and a half to conceive. I wonder if it runs in the family because my grandmother had the same issues, my aunt and my mother. All three of these ladies had hysterectomies in their early 40s.
