Do I really need a hysteroscopy???
After a horrible HSG experience yesterday, I'm freaking out at the thought of my hysteroscopy scheduled for Tuesday. I'm looking for advice on whether I should cancel. Here's my story:
Am 33. Have two year old concieved naturally after 11 months "loosely" TTC. Have always had irregular cycles but had been on birth control for all of my 20's. Charts show irregular ovualtion- sometimes, sometimes not. Been TTC for 15 months now, no luck. Got preggo again after 11 months TTC (second month on clomid) but it never felt right and I lost it early. Have had total of five clomid cycles now. Last month doesnt fully count since DH went OUT OF TOWN DURING OVUALTION...GRRRRRR. Started seeing RE this month. Has been hell. Constant appointments, ultrasounds, bloodwork, procedures, Im exhausted and stressed now which I hadnt been before. My day 4 bloodwork was fine, all PCOS bloodwork fine, currently doing CCT, and my day 4 ultrasound showed 6 follicles on each side. My HSG was clear. Do I sound like someone who needs a hysteroscopy???? I dont have abnormal bleeding or pain or anything. Im wondering if my doctor is just a test a holic, and the test is scheduled for day 12, which is close to ovulation and my cervix is so wrecked from the HSG if that happens again, I dont think I will be able to BD for days and days, thus missing ovulation. I dont know what to do. I dont want to be labeled as a complaining wimp by the RE but Im stressed, big time. |

Honey, the HSG and histerocopy is a good thing. It is not as bad as the HSG. It is more indetailed. Trust me I did not want to do it and my HSG did not hurt me at all. I have never had a issue getting pregnant ( 4
pregnancies 4 losses) and wondered why I was having to go through it! but think of it this way, if the HSG showed nothing, this is as my RE said the rolls royces of tests! It is more then the other test and not as bad! I hate to say it "Cowgirl" up, pray you can find something. Not to sound crude but I think most Dr's involved with IF stuff are going to check everything! I hope that they find something (sounds weird but mine did not find anything and I wanted them to!). the best of luck with it and let us know!

Thanks...
Thanks for the response. In the end, I got lucky- I got pregnant without assistance a few weeks before my rescheduled hysteroscopy and am now 11 weeks along! Infertility tests definately scared my ovaries into producing!
Best wishes to all of you in your journeys. |
