Andrology testing for DH...results are in.

So DH and i spoke to one of the nurses yesterday regarding his results and she said it doesnt look "bad" i assume that is good then. Here is what she reported
47% moving well, 6.7 ph, grade 3.5, 63.7 motility, 27.1 mil per ml and there was 5.0ml's collected. Can anyone help me out here has anyone's DH undergone andrology testing?

My Dh has had a couple SAs but I'm not sure about an andrology. Was this test ran through the RE office or a urologist? Best to ask them to interpret it for you. You have the numbers now have them tell you where those numbers come into play, what is the normal range, where does that put you, what do the terms mean (if you don't understand them).

Hum...my DH just got his results today too but they were called "semen analysis" and our RE's nurse reported as saying his count was 143 million which she said is real good and all were normal, so I don't know if this helps you but that's the result we got today. Maybe your results were more technicallly reported? Maybe it was a different test, I am not sure.

Thanks! Yeah i plan on getting a full on explanation from RE but i was just wondering if anyone on HERE had been through this and had some experiences...SA is different than andrology and yeah it was done in RE's clinic. They have full spectrum of things. IVF, lab etc..

Thanks for clarifying that they are two separate tests. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance but I really don't know how to look at all of this. Even though DH has had SAs only we still were given a full panel of information from viscosity to morphology and count. I had to have my OB sit with me to explain it all with the first test and my RE did with the third test so I knew exactly what we were looking at.

Yes, I too am very curious because I specifically asked the RE today if there are any other tests for DH regarding IF and she said no.

I just looked it up and it simply says andrology is a branch of medicine studying male diseases that cause male IF. I could not find information regarding a specific test called andrology, the only thing I could find was the SA and the study of the SA being called andrology, so needless to say I am still confused.

The RE nurse just called to go over a few things she asked if I had any questions so I asked about the andrology test, she said the andrology test they do at my RE is the SA.
