Smile First RE visit

So I got an hour and a half session today on making my body work, what options I want to try, and how we are going to proceed.

They don't stay with any treatment for over 3 months and we are going to start with the femara since I already did the clomid route and femara stays in your system for a lot less time. We will take a month off which is perfect timing since I started spotting this week and will do some testing for blocked tubes and blood tests. So hopefully we will start femara around the first week in march if everything goes as planned.

Thanks so much ladies for all the information, I knew all their vocab at the office and was able to give them a decision on the spot. DH went with which was very comforting too. I'll keep you all posted on the test results.

Hi, I thought I would give you some encouragement on the Femera route. My DH and I have been trying to concieve our 2nd for 2 years. We did 4 rounds of clomid with our OBGYN with no luck. We went to an RE and have been on Femera for 3 cycles. My first cycle I had 2 large follicle but ended with a negative preg. My 2nd cycle also saw 2 large follicles and ended with a POSTIVE preg test...however, my beta numbers were really low and on subsequent testing they starting going lower and lower. We are now on our 3rd cycle, but it looks like I ovulated early (than the mid cycle ultrasound) so who knows how this cycle will turn out. The good news, Femera worked for me and gave me a positive pregnancy test after 2 years. It provided my DH and I some real hope after so many negatives. My girlfriend who conceived by IVF the first time, also used Femera and conceived on her first cycle. Femera is a very promising drug and its seeing some good results. The side effects are minimal (compared to clomid which were horrible). The first month I noticed none, but my 2nd and now 3rd cycle saw bad headaches and joint pain (hips mostly) but they are gone within 3 days after the last dose. Thought you would need some encourgement on the drug by hearing some positive results. Good luck!

I'm also a Femara patient.... It has done well for me. Actually my RE was so excited today at my ET re: egg quality I almost didn't recognize her! I'm here to say, Femara has helped me with follicle development - I hope it does great for you!

Thanks for the info ladies. I started my first dose of femara last night and I was happy that it wasn't any more expensive than the clomid with my insurance. I do have a cold anyway so I don't know if I'll notice the headaches this cycle anyway.

How are you doing now?? I have the option to take Femera or Clomid this cycle. I'm really thinking I want to try the Femera. How is it working out for you??
GOOD LUCK GIRL. I hope it brings you your BFP soon. I'm going to ask my RE about the HCG shot. Do you have any idea how much in increases your chances??

He is always lost, his question is always when do we get to "do it"! That's all he cares about!

OK that sounded bad, he does care, but I can't keep all the meds and tests I do straight. I write them down so I don't expect him to know. He just knows he has to give me the HCG shot.
