Process

Hi,

I have been perusing this site for the last few days as I am just beginning the fertility process. My huisband has been seeing a fertility doctor and has improved his sperm motility these last few months and now I have an HSG this week. What are some of the next steps we can expect? I have yet to meet the fertility doctor and have been working through my OB until now.

Hi sfsoccergal:
In my experience. Expect better treatment. Not to say that OB's aren't good practitionars, they just don't understand infertility like a fertility Dr. does. They will most likely do a few blood tests to see where you're at, and then ask for a CD3 and CD21 blood work to be done. After they do the HSG if all is clear they might put you on some fertility drugs.
Since your DH has a motility issue they will probably want another s/a from him. I have my man on GNC mega man multi, and an extra 1000mg vitamine C. I hear that it helps. That's what our RE told us anyhow. I hope this helps.
Don't forget to write down all you questions you want to ask.
