How do you all answer the "When are you having another one?" question?

Just wondering how others out there handle that question? We seem to get it a lot. I have the tendency to blurt it all out and get these strange/sympathetic looks. I tell myself not everyone needs to know our situation but for some reason I can't help myself. I've started telling people we had complications with my son's birth and that shuts people up sometimes. I know they are well meaning, but it still hurts. How do you all respond? Thanks!

I always say somethign simple along the lines of "It's in the making!" or "Right now!" with a smile on my face... Depending on who it is, I may get a little detailed and talk about the IF journey.

This one eases over time. I'm having a more difficult time right now with "how are you dealing with being a grandma?" As excited as I am, my husband has noted the drastic change in me over the past four months since we found out.

It gets easier, I promise.

I would just say "Oh, we're thinking about it" or "when the time is right". I found that people would tend to back off then.

With DH family, they've asked and made comments about not making my DD "an only child". I just tell them we're not planning another one and change the subject. They don't know about our years of IF first time or second time. I'm not comfortable with them knowing.

Anyone else, like strangers, I don't mind getting into the nitty gritty or being more polite about it. I have an old neighbor that asks me every time she sees us. I just have to remind myself that she's very old and probably doesn't remember asking 100 times before.

I usually give them the whole secondary infertility story just to make them feel sorry for asking. I hate that question.
