Unhappy Hi New here and have a long story and need some support

Hello all. My name is Jennifer. I have a 4 1/2 year old son and he is wonderful. I sufferred two miscarriages within 8 months of each other. Both were no fetal heartbeat at my 12 week office visit. I had three DNC's (after the second miscarriage, I had to have the DNC redone because I started to bleed out at home 6 weeks post op). After the third DNC, my cycle became very long and my actual period only lasted about 36 hours each time. My OB put me on clomid, I took it for two cycles, it made my cycles shorter, however my period still only lasted about 36 hours. Right around the time I would be ovulating, I had horrible pains and found out my ovaries were loaded with cysts from the clomid. So this cylce, i was told not to take the clomid, i have to go back on January 6th to see if the cysts are gone, and then the doctor is going to try a lower dose of clomid. Has anyone heard of any of this. Why does my period come and go in two days? I've had genetics counseling to see if there is something wrong with my husband or I that would cause the miscarriages and we were told no. However, they definitely think there is something wrong and that I am having a clinical problem trying to conceive. it is so frustrating because everyone assumes i am fine because i had my son and everyon thinks I should just be happy with my one child, as if I am being selfish by wanting one more. I am soooo aggravated. I just want to get pregnant and have a baby. i have no idea what is wrong with me. please help thanks

Hi jennifer-
I don't know what your age is and if you are seeing a reproductive endocrinologist but it sounds like you may need some blood tests to first determine what your day three FSH level is. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? Shorter cycles can happen as we get older and sometimes be an indicator that our egg reserve and qulity is getting lower than normal. This is not to say that we can't get pregnant, it may just take longer.

At any rate- I want to welcome you to the forum and tell you that you came to the best place for advice, support and friends. I wish you the best.

response to hopeful2bmom

Hi. Thanks for your response. I am 32 years old. I had a lot of problems getting help at first because i had my son and i was constantly told because I had him that it was just bad luck that I had the miscarriages. it was as if they never heard of secondary infertility. I go to the doctor next week. I will see what they say. thanks for your help

Hi
Welcome! I know how your feeling. I have a three year old and have had 5 mc over the past two years. Have they checked for antiphosphslipid antibodies? You are not being selfish. Everyone always tells me after a mc, well at least you have a daughter. Its so frustrating because, yeah I have a child, but in my heart I want more. I know its hard because people just dont understand. Hope you get your answers!

I hope you find the help and support you need. I'm also experiencing SI and it is hard....but there are lots of kind words and support here. Are you definately ovulating since your m/c's? My AF are also quite short, and it can be sign of no ovulation as the lining of the uterus is thin. I'm sorry for your mc/s.... I can't imagine how hard that was. Good luck to you!

Hello! I too am dealing with SI. Does your whole period end after 2 days or do you spot for a couple of days before that? I only have full flow for 2 days but usually have about 3 days of spotting before that.

Hello

I'm also new here, sorry to hear of your losses.

I've also recently experienced problems with my AF after a D&C and in my case it turned out to be uterine scarring.

My Ob. said that it was mild Ashermans Syndrome as normally full Ashermans normally doesn't present with AF. I still had bleeding, but much lighter than usual, just spotting.

Has your fertility specialist suggested further uterine investigation?

There's nothing selfish in wanting another child, IMHO.

I can definately understand wanting to be pregnant again; it's my constant state of being, at the moment and my life revolves around charting, temping, OPKs, 2WWs and HPTs!!

Best of luck.

hello all

Thank you all for your responses. I have only had genetic testing done. They found nothing wrong with my husband or myself. my next step is probably to go to a reproductive endocrinologist, however my insurance covers absolutely no infertility treatments. right now i am taking a rest. I had to be taken off the clomid because i had a ton of cysts on my ovaries, so we are waiting to see if those go away and then the dr. will lower the dosage and start me again. I am taking evening primrose oil because that is supposed to help with the production of cervical mucus, so we will see what happens. wish me luck. happy new year
