Anyone with success with 3rd IVF cycle?

Hello ladies!!!

I am wondering if anyone has had success with their 3rd IVF cycle? We are contemplating doing a 3rd cycle after the first two have failed. We pay 100% out of pocket for all our fertility expenses. Our first IVF had a large number of eggs and we transferred 3 blasts (poor quality). Our 2nd IVF, we had some good quality embryos and transferred 5 (one grade A, two grade B, and 2 grade C). No remainig embryos are able to be frozen. After going back to IUI after our failed IVFs, our RE only recommends another fresh IVF cycle. If we spend the money and get PG then it is worth every penny, but if not then we are so devastated. Any help would be appreciated.

The third time was the charm for me. We had fresh sperm on ER day, and my RE altered my protocol (from Lupron to Antagonist). We're gearing up for #4!

When do you consult with your RE? Will s/he change your protocol in any way? You could also pay for a phone consult with one of the big IVF clinics (CCRM or Cornell) to see what the docs there have to say about your case.

Paying out of pocket takes it to a whole new level, I'm sure. You're right, though, if it works--you'd be over the moon! Best of luck to you!

IVF #4:
IVF/ICSI/TESE
16 weeks -- consistent daily movement / love it!
8/5 -- anatomy scan; HB 149; weight 7 oz. We have a healthy tot! And no, we didn't peek at the gender--it's a surprise!

Thanks!! We will use a "down regulation protocol" where we go slower with the meds this time to even out the follicle size instead of ex 150 twice daily from the get go. THis should also help I am told with OHHS since when I had an E2 level last time of 3500 we had to trigger regardless of the remaining size embryos. The other option is donor eggs. What is an antagonist protocol? I did Follistim/Ganirelix and then Lupro/GonalF.
