He has to quite smoking

We just started IVF prep and he has to cut way down on his smioking. He is so angry. We cannot be around most of our friends due to it seems they all smoke...alot.I dont want to fight with him all the time.I smoked maybe one a day when he would be smoking or when I am drinking.I cannot drink any more.So that drops my smoking way down.Down to none. This is just one more stress we are going to have to deal with.Crap.

My husband was able to quit smoking using prescription Chantix. He had been a smoker for about 12 years and after just weeks on the meds he had quit. And he didn't experience the usual side effects that a lot of people have when they quit like irritability. It might be something for your husband to talk about with his doctor. I wish him the best of luck.. I know it can be really hard for some people but quitting is one of the best things he can do.. and better now than when it's time to bring your baby home.

Tobacco

I completely understand. My DH thinks that since I am the one with ovulation issues, he doesn't need to quit dipping Copenhagen. Am I the only one who thinks that is just as harmful as smoking? I just think if we are going to spend are savings on IVF, we should be as healthy as possible. There isn't anything wrong with giving his swimmers a little boost, right? I hope you have luck with your DH and please let me know how you succeed.

Amanda...I know what you are going through. I am on the first week of my mock cycle and took my 5th Lupron shot today. I don't smoke but my hubby does! He has to quit for a full 70 days before IVF and he is not doing so well. His work does not help. I get impatient some days but in all...I try to encourage him. I have to remind him what our focus is here.

Quiting from any kind of vices is really hard. For a person to quit from it, he / she must DECIDE for HIM/HER SELF that he/she WILL REALLY QUIT from it. Strong MIND SETTING is the key to quit from any kind of vice.
