bd issues

Hi there- I just need a moment to vent my frustration. I have a wonderful DH who has been very supportive of my journey ttc. I say my journey because part of the reason we have not been able to conceive is the fact that he has major performance anxiety during bd. So, after 2 years I decided to take matters into my own hands and went to a fertility dr. Now I have to shoot myself up with all sorts of drugs and hope that I can get pregnant through iui. He then has the audacity to get upset with me when I am overly emotional or a little crabby. I can't help but blame him for all of this. I try not to, but I do. After the iui we had no back up bd just in case, so I can't help but feel like it is his fault it didn't work.

Maybe it is all these darn hormones, but I feel so alone sometimes.

Thanks for listening.

Kelly,

I have the same issue with my DH, we can't even try on our own b/c of his issues. I am anovulatory so it is my issues too. But it sucks to be the one doing EVERYTHING and then to get flack b/c we are emotional. My DH is the same. It is hard not to blame him, but he would change it if he could. I know I would change the fact that my body is broken. It is hard but I think I would tell him how you feel (not about the bd that will make it worse) tell him that it hurts you when he get upset, that this process is hard on your body, and you are sometimes out of control of your emotions. Tell him that he wouldn't like it if you critcized something that was out of his control.

Kellie-I felt alone for a really long time. It was very hard on our marriage for a multitude of reasons. It ook some counseling and working through some really hard times to get where we are now. It killed me when friends would talk about how great their sex lives were and I would just smile and nod. Now I am dealing with it mixed with all this IF crap. Some days I wonder is it really all worth it? And other days I am sure I am moving in the right direction.

My bd issues aren't the same as yours, but I can relate to feeling like I am the only one doing things to make this happen. We can't bd to help out because my DH is azoospermic. I just get so frustrated being the one to have to give myself injections day in and day out, and him just being so anemotional over it all. Then he gets upset when I get crabby, and I just want to tell him where to shove it, lol. Our sex life has recently taken a downward turn, and I think it is because of all the hormones.

I know what you mean Alldeliveries. IF is hard on any marriage and especially hard on the sex life. Sex becomes clinical and you almost feel like if you aren't having sex to conceive why bother?
