Low Beta and unusual rise...Is there a chance?
I know the odds are against me, but would appreciate any inisght on my situation - good or bad.
ICSI #2 ER: Oct 2nd/09 Day 3 Transfer 3 embryos Oct 5th/09 Beta #1 62 Oct 19th/09(bleeding and cramping Oct 20-22nd) Beta #2 74 Oct 23rd (Bleeding and cramping stopped) Beta #3 239 Oct 26th - more than doubled Ok, I thought forsure I had miscarried and the nurse had told me this was not a viable pregnancy, but today I had my beta and it's 239 - 21 days post transfer. I'm totally confussed, if I had miscarried why would the beta triple over the weekend? I'm having another beta on Thursday and ultrasound on Friday. Has anyone seen this before and is there a glimmer of hope???

Hi Brightlight. I don't have an answer for you, as I am in BETA HELL right now, too.
I just wanted to tell you, maybe you should post this in the IVF forum, and you might get some more help! I wish you luck! Eileen

Holy cow!  Beta #2 10/26 301   Beta #3 10/28 194  Beta # 4 10/30 65  It is over for this cycle! Stop all meds.11/3 ~ Miscarried

I think there is reason to hope for the best!! Your number is going up wonderfully now. Hope your next two come back showing strong healthy numbers.

Hi. You need to go to the thread "does anyone think this beta is low. " If you go to the top and hit search and then type that in you will see a lot of low numbers that went right on to become perfect pregnancies. Me include! Hope this helps.

Hi Eileen,
thanks for the note. I'm still challenged manoeuvring throughout the different forums and posting! My re thinks I miscarried one embryo last week and that another is in my tube/etopic pregancy. I had my beta done this morning so hope to have the results this afternoon and U/S tomorrow, so hope to have further clarity about what is going on. I also had blood tests for liver/kidney as my re is preparing to give me methotrexate if they do not see a fetus in my uterus tomorrow. Good luck with your beta!
