trouble making small talk

Can anyone relate to this?

I'm finding that I'm having a hard time talking to others lately. The stress and strain of infertility and treatments over the past 3 years are just becoming too much to bear. Only a few close friends know what I'm going through (I definitely prefer it that way), but I find that whenever I'm around anyone, I can't even make simple small talk because the biggest thing on my mind is our fertility struggle, and if I can't talk about that then my mind is just blank.

So along with everything else, now I feel like i'm someone with a lack of personality and no social skills. I think i might be going insane.

JCG, I hope you find the same support and encouragement I have found from the ladies on this website! Please feel free to vent, ask questions, make comments, etc... Nobody here will judge you or the way you are feeling.

Welcome! I feel like this very often. IF is CONSTANTLY on my mind and sometimes I just don't have the energy to talk to anyone. It makes it very difficult to socialize. Just know that you are not alone, and this is a wonderful place to talk to others who completely understand you. Find forums where you feel comfortable posting and you will make new friends quickly! Glad you found us, and hang in there!

Like the others said, we get it here on this site. I often feel the same way, especially when surrounded by my pregnant friends. It's really hard to talk about things that just don't seem that important anymore, with IF hanging over us.

Hang in there and post as much as you need to!
