Off Topic - Job Stress

Hi girls.... I really wasn't sure where else to post this so here it is. LOL I'm sure some of you ladies work from home. This is my situation...

I work as an administrative assistant (my official title) for a small company that does a HUGE volume of business. My boss to put it bluntly is a piece of s%&*. I've been there 2 1/2 years and have so much work put on me that I am now basically running the company! He literally does nothing and doesn't even need to be there. He has made these comments to me as well... that why does he have to be there when he has me to do everything! I have unofficially changed my title to office manager/project manager. I certainly don't get paid his salary. He thinks it's easier to throw it all on me than to hire two more people. I've spoken to him several times but to no avail. He obviously does not care. I have also noticed that he sets me up for failure all the time... just to remind me in his own little twisted way that he's still the boss. I've had all out fights with this man where he has spoken to me in a manner that you certainly don't talk to anyone in much less an employee!!! I'm stressed beyond belief, waiting to have my beta done in 2 days and can't take it anymore at work! I should have walked out a long time ago. So after talking it over with my DH who has been begging me to leave there... I wrote my letter of resignation today and will hand it to him when he gets back from vacation! I'm just broken. I mean... how much can a person take! And on top of going through treatments.

So I do not have another job yet. We have a little saved to carry us through if I dont' find something right away but I wanted to put feelers out there to see if anyone had heard of or knows any good work at home opportunities or has any suggestions.... it would be tremendously appreciated! You have no idea!

And if you're still with me and reading this I want to thank you for listening. I just needed to get this off my chest. Thank you thank you thank you! You girls are wonderful!

::: taking a deep breath :::

I know how the stress at work is!!!! I am a department supervisor but they are blocking me from bettering myself (promotions or even departmental move) and it is really getting stressful because they give me no help when I need it! I am also thinking working from home would be a possibility but, like you, don't know where to start! I just told DH that after I get back from maternity leave and complete the fiscal year (so i can get my 2 weeks pd vacation + paid mat. leave) I will be leaving there.

When work is stressful it makes everything in life hard to deal with. I don't have any suggestions but I love Tastefully Simple and you can sell that on the side of another job. It's boxed food and very yummy, and because it's food people have to buy more from you! Just know I"m thinking of you! Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thank you girls! I was just feeling really down yesterday about the whole thing... but also empowered by the thought of having written my resignation already. It's a really freeing experience. He doesn't get back from vacation until the 10th so I'll keep you posted!
