I am so sorry - that is the worst day ever! Probably way off here, but would there be any way you could foster the baby? It might keep your spirits up to nurture.

Sounds like you have had a really crappy day ! I understand the feelings that you are having. In the hospital I work in I had a 14 year old patient who was pregnant last week, and I WANTED TO SMACK HER!! She said where can I smoke, me being the loud mouth I am I said, YOU CAN'T YOUR PREGNANT and ended that conversation really quick !
I'm there with you, we may both get fired ! Lori

prayin4#2, you have to be a licensed FP, and currently I am not. Our agency only allows you foster children that are coming from a different county agency. But that was a good thought.

Definitely sounds like a crummy day. Thank goodness it's Friday. Where I worked before it seems that the pregnancies happened by the dozen. Once one announcement came, three more followed. It was really hard, especially when I was dying and doing everything I can and still wasn't conceiving. One of the ladies I worked with at the time was just newly engaged, not even trying and got pregnant. She counted herself blessed that it happened so quickly. If you could secretly roll your eyes I would have. Instead I excused myself to the bathroom and cried in the stall while hiding out for a little bit. It was at one of my lowest points too so it was like salt on the wound. But now I'm the baby where I work and everyone knows of the battle we've endured so they are thrilled with us. Sorry to hear about the poor little girl who has to go into foster care because of her mother. So sad what so many children endure these days.

i can totally relate! i work in a day care center & there is a running joke that there must be something in the water because at any given time there are 3 to 4 pregnant women! i stay calm by reminding myself that my turn is coming. i'm sorry you had such a lousy day.

I am sorry you had a gloomy day. Maybe these coworkers of your have no idea that you're trying to have a baby. I am a social worker too, and it was really difficult working with mothers who didn't care for their babies. I cried many times while waching TV about children that were being abandoned or killed by their own parents. So i definately know the feeling. I began my journey trying to have a baby in 1990. I just had a baby girl 6 months ago. It will happen sweetheart. What helped me is that no one knew what i was going through and never shared at work with anyone. I am very private at work place because i've seen and heard many things that people think they share to remain private being shared so i just do not do it. Just keep praying God has time for all of us. I will keep you in my prayer request at Church next sunday. God Loves you.

I have had days like that! The pregnancy announcements always seem to come at the wrong time. I think you did the right thing by getting out of there. I have told pretty much every one that I work with, and those that I haven't have heard through the grapevine. I find that most people are much better about announcing pregnancies to me. My problem is that I work in a prison and I see pg women coming into visit prisoners.....now that drives me bananas! I hope you are feeling better today.
