Wow you guys have been busy whilst I've been asleep. Gonna make this quick as I've gotta get to work.
Quote:
I switched to menopur 'cos my response to clomid wasn't great. The first cycle with 50mg I didn't respond at all (had 62 day cycle without ovulating!) so they upped it to 100mg. I got 2 follies at day 14, then 1 follie at day 16, then 1 follie at day 25 so they felt I was becomming resistant to it. Clomid does seem to affect the lining in a lot of women. I actually had fewer side-effects with clomid (just hot flushes) but the side-effects menopur got less with each cycle. My nurse told me they'd had a lot of success recently with menopur. Hope that helps Su

Hello ladies! Today has been a long day (first full day a work since before Christmas
), I'm a little tired, so my post will be short. Thanks Su for info on the medicines, I guess it doesn't matter how healthy you are because women react differently to the various medications. Lilac, I'm glad you put your P & VP in their place. If you don't put your foot down early on in the job, they will walk all over you. Good for you!! Well my celebration is simple today. I called the cryobank today to purchase a vial and the customer service rep said I wouldn't be charged until the order actually shipped. I scheduled the order to be shipped on 24 Jan (just taking a stab) and I can cancel any day before then. Soooo if I don't need (which I sincerely hope I do not ) I can cancel the order. Also, I didn't know it until today but they only charge the storage fee per customer so it doesn't matter if you have 1 or 100 vials in storage it's still the same price. That's good to now. How's it going Deej?

Teri - I think your 1st appointment is tomorrow, isn't it? Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
Erica, that is wonderful news about the cryobank! I'm not seeing a downside... Deej, any word yet on your insurance covering the surgery? I had lunch today with an old friend that I've known since we were 11. She lives near the other side of the country so I don't see her very often. Anyway, listening to her talk about her life made me SO thankful that I'm on the road I'm on... her life doesn't appeal to me in the slightest! I know what I want. Which is good.

Hello Ladies! I am glad to read that everybody seems to be doing well!
Lilac: isn't it strange how we can see what other people's lives are like and be very grateful that we have made the choices we have made? Elove: how was it getting back into the groove? i love what you are celebrating! that is such great news! are you using fairfax? i love it when good things happen to good people! Kathryn/Terri/Kim: how are you ladies?? I did hear back (after a second phone call) from my doctors office regarding insurance coverage for the surgery. my doc is out of network, so that alone would put me at 60/40 coverage with, here comes the kicker... a $1,000.00 deductible for out of network! They do believe the anesthesiologist and hospital would be covered at 80/20. Regardless, my body is telling me no even though mentally I am ready to continue. I still have a bandage on my head from the skin cancer surgery... I am turning it over to the big guy in the sky, and deciding not to have surgery next week is the most comforting thing to happen in my life in a very long time... on a lighter note, a man is coming to visit me!! i have not seen him since 1993. not sure about you ladies but i do NOT look the same as 14 years ago! This evening I am celebrating the fact my insurance will cover even some of my surgery... I'm celebrating the relief felt when I decided not to have surgery next week, even though it would be the best time regarding coverage at work

Deej, if you felt relief after you decided not to go ahead next week, then that absolutely must be the right decision. You HAVE had a few things going on lately... have it when you're ready.
I want my surgery date to be soon, but I'm not sure I want it quite that soon, either! And when you do go ahead, some of it at least will be paid for. That's good news. Well, ladies, this week has totally exhausted me. I am so thankful that today is Friday, even if it is only 730AM and I still have a long day of work ahead of me.

Dee Dee, I'm glad you're at peace with your decision. Although time may be of the essence, at the end of the day, waiting a few weeks or even a few months probably isn't going to change anything!
Let us know how it goes with the man from your past. What's the scoop? An ex-boyfriend? I'm still feeling a bit like crap from my laryngitis/upper respiratory illness. I came into work today, and my co-worker said I sound like I have TB! k.

Thank you for the support, Kathryn. Not an easy decision, as right now I feel I want to be doing something. But my body is asking for a break.
Yes, an ex boyfriend. We met during Spring break 1993. He was beautiful then and appears very handsome in his pictures! I am nervous. Not having dealt w/ dating for some time, this should be interesting! He is very aware of what I am doing, so we both know this is a go nowhere type of weekend. Does your throat hurt when you talk or does it just sound like it hurts?? Were you able to pull off cooking for your friends? I hope all is well with all you ladies! Where is Teri or Kim? Have we lost some ladies??

My throat just sounds like it hurts. Sometimes, an extreme coughing jag will make it hurt, though.
Despite my plague-like symptoms, I managed to pull off New Year's Eve. Another tenderloin and more mashed potatoes. At least this one was a potluck, with my SIL making home made egg rolls for an appetizer, and my friends Shannon and Amy doing the salad and asparagus. Keep me posted on the weekend with the beautiful man. Sometimes, I think things happen exactly when we expect them the least! Kathryn.

Apparently you ladies are holding my interest a lot better than the budget...
Deej, I'm glad you are at peace with your decision. We have to listen to our bodies! Have a lovely weekend with the beautiful man. You never know what surprises you might find... I was thinking about how you said you look quite different from 14 years ago... I know I do... I definitely look older (tries not to notice gray hair), but you know, I think I'm healthier and I have a much better attitude than I did at that time. I'm more confident now and I think all that shows in how I look. So you never know how he might see you! Kathryn, that sounds miserable. I hope you feel better soon. I had a bad cold during my Nov 2ww - the cold went away but I still have the cough - it's going around and it's really long-lasting according to the drs, so I really hope yours goes away soon!

hey
how's everyone doing? i am doing great ! i had my 1st appointment today & i think it went really well. i had a pap smear, bloodwork, & an ultrasound done. the ultrasound was good, the dr. said that my uterus is exactly positioned as it should be with no fibroids, tumors, etc. & that i have a great lining! then we got to my ovaries & he said that i have cysts & its PCOS, but he isn't worried about it because i have conceived prior. my estrogen level was at 51 on the blood test, which means i am not ovulating, he said it would be between 100 & 200 if i was. he put me on birth control, then he said when i get my period, we will do another blood test on day 2 or 3, then on day 6 to 11, the saline sonogram. after that, he's starting me on clomid & he said that he wants to do my 1st insemination in feb. & that in his opinion, i will have no trouble getting pregnant !!! |
