Today was a brutal day. Getting news about store guy was like the cherry on my crap sundae.

As to what he said specifically, if anyone is dying to know and want to PM me I can share but I don't want to throw the nitty gritty up on the public forum. It's nothing special really... I just asked him out and he said no but was very sweet about it.

As to looking for more eye candy, I can tell you that this was not eye candy that was motivating me. I don't generally ask people out, and I can't even tell you the last time I went on a date. It takes someone pretty extraordinary to even turn my head...and I don't mean looks, I just mean that if there isn't a connection or a spark I don't generally notice men (or anyone for that matter). And with this guy, it was thunderbolt city.

I'm sad about it, but don't know if it is because I missed out on an opportunity because he's taken, or because I feel like maybe that connection was all just in my head and now I am filled with self doubt.

But part of me is glad because these encounters with people I share a connection with come along so rarely... last one was six years ago and he ended up having girlfriend too! And so, now I feel even more confident in my single parenting path because it could be another 6 years before someone I connect with comes along and even then he could end up being yet another guy that is spoken for.

I just feel like the kid at the party who was at the back of the pinata whacking line and got there too late after the pinata was cracked by the third kid in line and the mad rush of kids grabbed up all the "good lollies"...now all that's left are trampled tootsie rolls and bazooka gum... blech. Would rather just not have any candy if those are the choices.

I'm going to go watch my fave show and go to sleep early so I can maybe have one last nice dream before I let the dream of this guy fall by the wayside.

Mindi, inquiring minds want to know when you are going to POAS? ;-)

I'm starting to get excited about my dr appt tomorrow. I called their office to ask what they did if you were scheduled to O on a weekend and they said in those cases the doctor will open the office up for you, even on a holiday! The staff were SUPER nice and I was saying how my last doctor just wasn't listening or telling me what was going on, and they said I wouldn't have that problem there and the doc wants her patients to be informed. They just said really nice things about her. Of course they work there, so they are biased, but they seemed genuine as opposed to sales-ish if that makes sense.

I REALLY do not want to be working today...but I guess I better get moving...

Ona - Okay, feedstore guy isn't a downer by no means, you mentioned that it is rare to find that spark in someone for you. feedstore guy has been with his gf for only a year, and we don't know anything about that relationship (nor do we need to) but what I am saying. Keeping up conversation via email and feedstore, just builds a stronger friendship. You never know if feedstore guy isn't THE GUY for you!
All I am saying is, there is nothing wrong with friendship. Feedstore guy seems like he is wanting your friendship.. And from what I can tell just off the forum.. your friendship is an awesome gift to give someone. You just never know what your future holds, thats all I'm saying.

Do you know if the staff will tell you if the DS has dimples? It isn't on the staff impressions, but it doesn't mean that they don't exist either. I mean if I am going to pay for the DS, I might as well try for something I have always wanted is a cute little dimpled cheeked baby--

Kuddley, I don't know about Fairfax, but some banks do keep that sort of info. I've used Xytex twice and I have info on whether my donors have dimples or not, detached or attached earlobes, and whether they have long or short eyelashes, for example. I don't know about Fairfax, but it might be worth asking.

Well, I went for my pre-admission bloodwork at the hospital this morning. It went fine and I was out of there pretty quickly (though with a painful bruise!). One more step done!

I've been feeling pretty good today. Last night I went out for dinner with my brother and the food was fantastic. More than that though, we had a great talk about many things. He was really supportive about the surgery and about my ttc in general (in contrast, my mother told me yesterday that I shouldn't bother preparing for the surgery since it would probably be cancelled anyway - NOT helpful). He and I don't talk about my ttc much, so it was just lovely to hear, and at the right time for me emotionally. It gave me warm fuzzy feelings all day today. And, I just got off the phone with him now, and he told me he's gotten the day off on Friday just so he can be there if I need him.

Awww Jen!!!! That is sooo sweet of your brother! I'm so glad you had such a great chat and that he is being so supportive.

Cuddley, my DS's profile mentions that he has dimples and I am using Fairfax as well. Did you order the full profile? THose do go into detail about physical description especially things like ear lobes, cleft chin, dimples, as well as face shape, frame, skin tone, freckles, shape of eyes, etc, etc....

I'd be happy to send you my DS full profile so you can get an idea of all the stuff that is in it.

Thanks also for the advice on Jeremy. I am actually very grateful that he replied and was SO polite about it. He said to email him anytime and feel free to chat next time I'm in the store. I am still a bit sad, but I figure what is meant to be will be.

Oh, I got a call from the social worker today and scheduled my initial home visit. It's set for July 7th in the morning!

Ladies! So much to read...
Ona - congrats on having the courage to make the next level of contact with Jeremy. that is so awesome. even if the end result was not exactly what you wanted, you know he is interested in continuing communication! that is wonderful! in my opinion, we can all use more friends, and friendship is where some great intimate relationships were started! i think that internet is a good way to get to know someone (look at us!) you are a wonderful woman, and he too will get to see this if you choose to keep communicating via email.
kuddley - i used fairfax, and bought the more detailed physical info for one of the donors. it gives TONS of info including stuff like dimples! it may be helpful to call and ask if they can give you donor #'s who have dimples. if they see you are purchasing profiles, they may be helpful over the phone... i had a question about a donor who was listed as having green eyes, but his pic showed some big ole melt in your mouth chocolate eyes... i called and they checked to make sure that in fact his eyes were green. that was my experience w/ fairfax and asking an additional question.
teri - sorry your stomach is still upset but i am looking forward to your day to day progress!
jen - i still cannot believe your surgery is SO CLOSE! i believe your patience will pay off and you are nearer to that BFP!
kathryn - it seems like just yesterday you were describing your belly as feeling like a tennis ball where the baby is growing. how would you describe it now? i still know so little about pregnancy...
mindi - are you going to test? these tww's are more fun when they are not mine!
THank you ladies for the kind words about my mother. her surgery is wednesday at 130pm. i feel she will do just fine.
As for me, i am not sure if i made it to chicago before my egg expired. I will, however, keep you all posted as to when/if AF arrives...

Hello All,

Well, the new doc is AWESOME!!! She was SOOooo nice and totally listened and was really understanding about being single. She even said "well, you don't want to lose any time"... and then when I was leaving I asked if she was a gyn or an ob/gyn and she said she was not an ob, but "WHEN I got pregnant she'd help me find a good ob..." I just thought that was awesome!

She actually said she wouldn't have given me the Metformin and didn't understand why I was on it either.

So she is going to take a few days to read through all my medical records (also awesome cuz the other doc barely even glanced at them) and then call me to go over what the plan is. She said she'd probably re-do some of the tests but she was also all about not wasting any more time.

Anyway, I am really boosted that the doc was nice and I am really happy that I went to see her. I'm not sure if I'll get to give this next cycle a go but please cross fingers for me!!!

Mindi, I'm DYING to know what's goin on with you...

Deej, I also have my fingers crossed that the timing for you was still good and you are now just waiting for that BFP.

Kuddley, get that list narrowed down at all?

Well I have no idea what is going on with my af, it hasn't appeared, the spotting I had has now gone. I did a test this morning, one of those senitive ones and it was negative. Guess all I can do it wait for it to arrive. I have a slight belly ache this evening so maybe I'll wake up in the morning and it'll be here. I have decided to have one more go with the clinic in Manchester with my 2nd donor and then I'll be waiting for the hospital nearer home to contact me. If I don't try my 2nd choice donor I'll always be wondering. The other thing I have to sort out is my finances, I can only afford two more goes and if they don't work it'll be a waste of money for me to stop. I have money tied up in my house so maybe I could use some of that. I'm also going to try and get a little evening or weekend job because now I've started this journey of TTC I don't think I'll be able to stop (unless of course I meet the man of my dreams).

Ona: so glad that you are happy with your new Dr, that you can start treatment this month. Sorry about Jeremy. Look on the bright side you've done it once and you can do it again, hopefully you won't be as shy next time. though saying that its not often you meet a guy that makes you go all funny inside.

Deej: Did you use OPK. Guess you are in the 2ww for you. When will be your test date?

Lilac: not long to go now, just think, this next next week it'll all be over and done with and it won't be long before you've been sperminated.

Teri: before you know it you'll be 12 weeks. Do you have anymore scans planned?

Hello ladies,

Thanks Susan and Kuddley. I am SOoooooo relieved about this new doctor. It's like a weight has been lifted, and like you say Kuddley, I can breathe!!!

I immediately rang my friend/future godmother and told her how it went and she was so excited!! The fact that my new doc, without me even saying anything to indicate my anxiousness, was able to pickup on how important this is to me and not only say she was going to not waste time but say the whole "WHEN" you get pregnant instead of "IF" you get pregnant thing really made me feel good. So often, doctors won't say something that is commiting them to successful outcome, so I really like that she had that good attitude.

Ok, I'll stop gushing about my new doc.

Susan, I don't want to jynx it but it could have been implantation bleeding, which can also cause that stomach cramp/tugging feeling. It could be AF is around the corner but I think there is an equal chance that it could be a BFP!!! Hang in there and as Dory says, "just keep swimming". I mean afterall, look at Teri's circumstances... she thought for sure she was out of the running and here she is at almost 12 weeks!!!! Hang in there!!! I'm keeping all fingers crossed for ya!

All your talk of Manchester is making me homesick for England...hehe. Not Manchester, but I sure do miss London.

Well, ladies, I am feeling somewhat anxious but generally I am really looking forward for Friday to come so I can get this whole thing behind me. I just calculated... I have been waiting for this surgery for 201 days! And I have been on a ttc break for 176 days! I think I've been patient enough... time to move on to the next step, don't you think?

All you ladies are an inspiration to me...Jen, you help me to be patient. Kathryn, you help me to see that there is always a way even if it isn't the path you wanted to take in the beginning. Teri, you help give me hope that even when it looks like AF has arrived and a BFN is looming, you could STILL be pregnant! Kuddley, you help me feel that single parenthood is possible, even the second time around. And Deej, you give me hope that there are men still out there that don't suck.
