Yeah for another single mum by choice! That is exciting news!
I just got home from hanging out with my sister.... Not sure if I have mentioned it, but she is a special needs child. She is a handful but I really enjoy spending time with her. We spend a day a week together, I worry how that will be when I have my own child. Anyhow, Kathryn, you KNOW you are going to rock thru this pregnancy and motherhood, anybody that can cook a gourmet meal while pregnant, and with a respiratory infection is superhuman! Tonight at Chuck E. Cheese it hit me that I am sitting out a month by choice. Of course I only think these things when I am surrounded by children and pregnant ladies! I get to live through you all vicariously while you all have u/s blood-work and iui's!

Hi Everyone
Teri, that's great news. I don't know about over there but in the uk clomid is quite cheap. I paid £10 for 5 tablets. It seemed a lot at the time but compared to the £300+ for a course of menopur it was peanuts. Fingers crossed it works for you I ended up visiting my gp this week as my cold turned into a sinus infection. I usually take decongestants when my sinuses get bad but obviously couldn't take any this time so it turned into a full blown infection and now I'm on antibiotics. Oh well, they seem to be working, its a lot less painful today. Hope everyone else is well Su

Hello Beautiful Ladies!! Yesterday was even more exhausting than Thursday. I'm so glad to have the weekend to rest.
Teri--I'm so glad you're doctor's appointment went well. I'm sure just the confidence your doc has in getting you pregnant is a comforting feeling. I'm not exactly sure how much clomid costs, but I believe it's less than $50. Good luck to you!! FEB 2008 WILL BE IT! Kathryn--Glad your New Year's Eve party went well. I know this nasty respiratory stuff is going around. I've had this mucus in my chest now since 14 Dec!! It probably doesn't help that I won't take any cough syrup for it. Great news on your friend!! Is this the one whose hand you held a couple of weeks ago. That's amazing you have someone close to experience your pregnancy with. Lilac--You are definitely blessed right now. You have a good job, home, money to spend on our greatest desire. Sometimes it takes us looking at other people's lives to appreciate all that God has given us. You know yesterday one of my Airmen, a female, called to tell me she was pregnant. I was a little startled at the news 'cause she is 26 with 3 boys who are all a year apart, so this makes #4. She's married, but it's not the greatest (there has been abuse). What makes it really bad is that she was scheduled to have her tubes tied on 18 Jan . This is one of those people who you absolutely know needs another child like she needs a hole in her head. Instead of being angry though (almost), I thought to myself, she is going to need so much help. They just bought 2 new cars within the past 6 months, the 2 year old needs full time day care, and her 4 and 5 year old need after school care until Dad gets home. Yes, we are blessed in ways we don't sometimes realize.Deej--Girl do you know how excited I am about your date!! I'm hoping all turns out well after 14 years and he's as nice and handsome as you remember. GET SOME $EX FOR US ALL!!! Okay so I don't condone sleeping on the first date--let me stop lying --if he's worth it). Ooo these hormone sometimes make me crazy--please forgive me!! No seriously....here's to good food, good wine, great conversation, and great chemistry. Have fun girl. And about the surgery, have it when you're ready but don't wait too late.Today I'm celebrating great friendship on this forum!!!

Kathryn: I was wondering the same thing, if your pregnant friend is the one who you were there when she got pregnant! If it is, that is wonderful you two can experience pregnancy together.
Elove: We shall see about the long lost boy. We talk at least an hour a day on the phone, so I feel I am getting to know him again. We have a few fun things planned, and I am keeping my expectations low. I will email you a recent pic of him. So what day are you on? Is this day 5? Do you breeze thru the first week then start to analyze everything in the second? Please tell us where you are at! Su: that is awful about the sinus infection! there are safe antibiotics to take and i am glad your doc got you some so you can get to feeling better! Lilac: any word on your surgery? i did not hear a final number from my insurance company yesterday and did not call to ask. how are you feeling right now, not being in a tww? i hope you are doing AOK Teri: i paid 25 dollars for clomid. that was w/out insurance. wal mart has it for cheap! look online or call I am a member of Single Mother's by Choice, and when I joined there was only one active in my city, but she has a child, she is not ttc... Without you ladies, I would have no SMC friends! Today I am celebrating the beauty of having such strong amazing women in my life! I am very grateful for you all. I'm celebrating this thread, where we get to connect and share our experiences with one another!

That's so funny - gp is general practitioner (or family doctor) not grandparents. Sorry I forget you're all on the other side of the world sometimes. I only have 1 grandparent left now (my dad's dad) and he has totally lost his marbles, the thought of him taking care of me is hilarious. I am very greatful for my grandparents tho'. It was the inheritance that my mum's mum left me which has paid for my treatment. Without her I wouldn't be pregnant!

Good morning ladies!
Kathryn - that's great news for your friend. How wonderful that you will have someone right there to go through this with! Quote:
Erica, let us know how your 2ww is going... Deej, good luck with the guy and let us know how it goes! Update on me: still no surgery date, but given that my RE's office is STILL closed for the Christmas break, I'm not surprised. I won't hear until next week at the very earliest. I'm not feeling too bad so far, but I'm hoping I don't get down next week when I ovulate and there's no IUI... In the meantime, it's the weekend! This is great news, as far as I'm concerned.

I am still thinking in terms of cycle day, and how I would be on day 2 of clomid... It is not happening therefore it was NOT meant to happen! Like Kathryn said, at the end of the day, one month is not a huge deal. Enjoying it and allowing my body to fully heal is my focus for the next few weeks.
Lilac: you and i are on same cycle days, and i will probably get a little sadness around ovulation time as well. Have you ever done bbt to see if you can chart your own cycle? Maybe I will do so this month. I have always thought it would be neat! KudleyGal and Alley: where are you ladies at?

DeeDee-you paid $25 at Walmart for 50mg clomid? I picked up my 100mg from Walmart last night for $32. At Walgreens it would have been $43. Clomid is on Walmart's $9 list (for 50mg, $18 for 100mg), but there are a few excluded states, including CO
. I realy thought my insurance was supposed to cover it so it would be $10, but then I just found out that my insurance does cover it-you just have to use those mail in pharmacies like Freedom Pharmacy. Good to know if I have to go to IJ!

clomid
Sorry to confuse ladies: I bought my clomid at my regular pharmacy, and it was 24.99. I had told the man to not even bother running it through insurance as it would not cover it. This was at CVS pharmacy...
I read online that WalMart has it on their reduced priced meds. They have an entire list of womens health medicines if you search for it. Regarding the ovidrel shot: A few weeks ago someone posted that it was 29$ at walmart, I called and it was approximately $76, not much cheaper than the pharmacy I get it at. I get the trigger shot at a pharm near my fertility doc, CVS would have to order it. ![]()
