DeeDee, Ona & Jen, Thank you for your advice on skipping at home insemination. You have convinced me to wait until August. I also did some reasearch online and found another bank that is about an hour away that has a large donor data base and whose prices for ICI is $120 less then CCB. They donor's are probably University of Irvine students as that is the University is close to the bank. I went through a buch of profiles and found a lot of good ones. I am going to talk to my nurse and ask her about this bank. Going with this bank will allow me to have more IUI's since the cost of the sperm was what was killing me. As much as I love my current donor, his vials are always on hold every other month. They won't be available until August 22 which will be after I O. So, on to find another donor.

BTW, My clinic didn't make me have a consultation with a therapist about using DS. I never heard of that. Hmm....I guess each clinic has their own rules.

Mindi, great news about the local sperm bank! I hear you on costs... Fairfax is really expensive, especially the donors with ID Consent.

Work is fumbling around with me again on my paycheck. I know money is tight because a few customers haven't paid us yet but this is just so crazy and unprofessional. You'd think with a half-million dollar contract in the wings waiting to be paid the owner would go out and get some financing to carry us through the rough patch. SO, now I am getting serious about finding a roommate so I can go get a second job.

Don't know if it's just my paranoia but I can feel that darn cyst now... I also POAS because today is when I calculated that I should have my LH surge, and sure enough the OPK was positive. What gets me is they say that luteal cysts are supposed to make your cycle go a bit wonky. So far mine have been like clockwork. That means AF is due around 15th and next surge should be at the end of the month. I'm feeling antsy now knowing I should O in the next day or two... another egg bites the dust!

I really hope the darned therapist calls tomorrow so I can schedule that... if I can go to that this week then I can ring up the doc and say "hey, you got my report and I did the therapy thing...can we just forget about that letter and move along with getting rid of this cyst and getting me sprogged up?"... When I have my next appt with her I am going to bring in a bunch of my photos from NZ since her husband is from there. Maybe if I give her a few to hang on the walls she'll be extra cool about this dumb letter. Hehe.

Ok, off to bed for me.

Cheers,

Ona

Mindi, great news on the new sperm bank! For me, DS has been one of the most expensive parts of the process. Every little bit counts!

Ona, totally understand the one more egg biting the dust feeling! I like your plan - the no letter/no cyst/sprogged up plan...

Ladies, thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.I am feeling much better.I met with my RE to discuss everything and go over how to proceed next.he told me that my miscarriage was just an unfortunate random event and that it would probably never happen to me again, considering my 2 previous normal pregnancies.he did tell me that while he is not certain of the cause, that all of the drugs my previous RE put me on that were unneccesary, may have played a part in it.so from now on,we are doing unmedicated iui's,since I ovulate perfectly on my own and have gotten pregnant twice before.his theory is don't try to improve what nature is already doing.I am out for 2 cycles,as my RE wants me to get a period before we do another iui.I have so many posts to read and catch up on.jen,I'm so glad your lap went well...ona,I'm glad your cyst isn't a bad one.its frustrating, but at least not dangerous...mindi,I'm glad you found spermies that are cheaperyou know how excited I am to visit and we can drink at least!!!I will catch up on the rest of the posts later

Teri, it's so good to hear from you. I've been thinking about you all the time and, of course, worrying. Your RE sounds like a great guy. I'm glad you're in good hands. Looks like lots of us are going to have to think about the possibility of having to endure a summer pregnancy...

Much as I hate being on the bench and hate for anyone else to have to experience this, it is a strange comfort knowing I am not alone and that this road to being a mother is rocky for everyone...even if I wish I could just snap my fingers and we'd all have our healthy babies. I guess this is the test to see how badly we really want it. Anyone not serious about this would have given up by now. All of you ladies keep me fighting!

Ok, I'm off to deal with more stupidity at work.

Cheers!

Ona,I agree with you 100 percent.I wish I could also just waive a magic wand and give all of us healthy babies.I think next time I get pregnant,I will be more scared because of what happened.I lost my ability to be carefreely pregnant,if that makes any sense.my RE is a wonderful dr. and I like the treatment plan he's come up with so now I just have to wait patientlyit would be cool if we all got our bfp's together

Editorial for the day: I LOVE my new RE!!! She's on vacation so she had her staff call me to tell me she got the radiology report and she is reviewing it and will call me when she gets back. Her assistant also asked if I had any messages to relay to her or any questions/concerns. I told her I was having trouble getting through to a counselor and checked with my insurance and the two folks she gave me aren't on my provider list and she is going to have the doctor send me some more people to choose from when she gets back on Monday. I also told her about the nightmare with my gyn/oncologist and she's going to ask the doctor if I can just go get the blessings from my regular gynecologist. She also said that the radiologist report said the cyst was "normal" and even though it is bigger, don't really need to worry about it.

I was having such a crappy day and then they called and now I feel tons better!!!

Good evening

Today was my first day back at work. I had a long weekend and went away for 2 nights with my wonderful neighbour to Skegness. He is such a lovely man, its just ashame that we both want different things out of life. I want children and he doesn't. I know I should call it a day with him but I feel so strongly connected with him because of the ectopic and miscarriage.

Anyway I've finished my 5 days of clomid and I go for my scan on Saturday to see which side I'm ovulating from. This month I've been really achy and bloated from the clomid. I think that my ovaries are in need of a break, which I'll be having if my 4th IUI is unsucessfaul. I actually wanted to use a different donor this time but my 2nd choice donor already has 10 patients with him so I had to use my old donor again. Anyway I won't get me self as worked up this time.

silverbrumby: Glad your happy with your new Dr.

Teri: I agree with your Dr, if its not broke why fix it.

Mindi: its standard practice here to have counselling. I've had it twice, once at each hospital. The counselling I had at my local hospital I also had to take a father figure for the baby with me, (luckily I have a nice neighbour)

Susan, glad you had a nice weekend away. for this time!

Ona, your new RE sounds wonderful.

Teri, I'm glad you are doing okay. My RE is a big proponent of unmedicated iuis. With a young healthy woman with no known fertility issues, he advocates going the more natural route too. I'm glad you are feeling good about the new plan. Your new doc sounds so much better than the old one.

Well I am back at work today. I am mostly feeling fairly good, but I do have these times when I suddenly feel quite comprehensively exhausted and lightheaded and know I just need to rest. Otherwise I am good, just a bit weary. I had a set-to with my assistant this morning after she made a comment suggesting I wasn't really sick (she doesn't know I had surgery, she just knows I called in sick) and was just taking a long weekend at the company's expense. It really ticked me off. Anyway, I told her that was inappropriate but it was kind of a downer for the morning. The whole morning was difficult for me (I felt quite iffy) but I am feeling better this afternoon. Still can't wait to go home, though.

Right, off to phone my RE about getting the stitches out!

Yep, same woman. She made a crack when I called in sick on Monday (which I ignored) but when she made another comment yesterday it really ticked me off.

Teri, great news on the apartment. Hmm, I wouldn't mind a pool.

I had an appointment with my RE first thing this morning and he took out my stitches. Even after a short time they looked much better - I think the stitches were actually irritating things.

Anyway, he said I'd made a great recovery already and he sees no reason why I can't start ttc on my next cycle. AF is already late (the surgery has mucked up my cycle) but once it comes I'm good to go! He gave me a Rx for clomid and the protocol to follow once AF comes. Yay, I'm back in the game!

It's been so long, now I'm kind of nervous! Maybe it's excitement...

I am feeling AF knocking at my door, and already called my doc regarding day 3 u/s! Maybe you and I will have a 2ww together.

LADIES - Fairfax cryo has free childhood photos for the month of July! I was looking to see if my donor had a reported pregnancy, and guess what? HE DOES!
