Charltac, try to stay optimistic! I have my fingers crossed for you!

Becca, sounds like a good appt with the RE. I've not heard of this ORY thing either but I have heard of using clomid and Gonal F. Yay that you can try again in October!

Ona, justice is served! Yay!

I'm having perfect CM so I'm hopeful about tomorrow... on the other hand I had a confrontation at work (just as I was about to leave) that kept me there very late and made me quite upset. I was nearly shaking when I got home (and it's a half hour commute!) I have since calmed down a bit, but I do not need this sort of thing, you know?

Jen, hang in there and sod the person at work who got confrontational....in the grande scheme of things it's meaningless...drink some chamomille tea, find a good book or a cheesy film, and forget about it...

Good luck tomorrow! Please let us know how you go! YAY! We're gonna be TWW buddies!!

Tomorrow I am 7dpiui!!!!!!!!!! Halfway there! WOOHOO!

Thanks Ona... normally I can avoid bringing these things home with me but I had trouble letting go of this one, it upset me so much. I had a drink, made comfort food for dinner, and I have a book... and I am trying not to dwell on it.

Yay, you are halfway there tomorrow! Yahoo!

I can't wait for tomorrow to be over... I have a difficult meeting with all 3 of my bosses in the morning, then I am hosting a barbecue for the entire staff (it's my dept's turn) at lunch time, then the sprogging, and then the weekend! Yes! 2ww here I come!

Teri!!!!!!!!!! TWINS! so happy for your double success! Wow! That news must've made your dad perk up a bit, I'd guess!

MzVee, I decided to get myself into more "civil" kinda work about a decade ago when I was thinking my private sector work would never cut it if I were to become a mum even if I had a partner... now, without one, and styltryn, I think if I were still in the private sector, I'd need to earn enough to get an au pair or nanny full time, but even in my civil type job, I think I'll need part time help, at least for awhile. Sounds kinda like what Kathryn has done career-wise. I'm glad I have less stress, more stable schedule, etc. in general, bc I really am not super woman!!!

Yikes about the bent needle, Jen! They should pack a spare needle, huh?! I think this sounds like your best follies ever, so I'm sure you were determined to get that hcG in - very courageous! Sorry to hear about the ruff day... but it can only get better after tomorrow, I'd say! for your IUI #9 success!

Becca, the clomid and Gonal F work on different things... clomid helps you ovulate and Gonal F helps more and bigger follies grow... so, maybe he thinks you need both.

Charltac, hang in there! Sending you lots of !

Totally beat after a long day! Maybe for once I'll get to bed before midnight!

Acne? Coincidence or hope lost?

I woke up to several pimples as if AF was right around the corner. Has anyone had their normal monthly acne and still gotten pregnant? Please help, freaking out here.

Charl,

I didn't really notice any changes in my cycle until well after I got the positive pregnancy test. So I don't think you should read too much into getting a bit of acne.

Jen, sorry about work. I know what you mean about trying not to take it home with you, but it isn't always possible. Hopefully, today will be a stellar day. Plus, it's Friday.

k.

Charl, I know several people who got really bad acne when they were pregnant, especially during the first month, so don't despair... when they say early PG symptoms are a lot like PMS/AF symptoms they're not kidding!

Fingers crossed for you!!! Only a few more days til your first beta!

Thanks Jen and Stilltryin. I need to read up more on the Gonal-F stuff....maybe my follies weren't that big in the past? I don't know, I never asked. I did google the ORY Protocol and found only one thing on it...and it was on another thread on this board, I believe. I wish I could find something on success rates with Clomid and Gonal-F.

Happy Friday ladies!

Came close to another confrontation at work today but managed to avoid it and am not letting it bother me. I have nicknamed the person in question MB (Manipulative B...) which makes me feel much better.

My barbecue was a huge success. Most of the company is raving about how wonderful it was! Okay, I didn't get much else done with all the preparations, but it was a nice change of pace for me. Plus I got really anxious about the impending IUI, and the whole thing took my mind off it.

I went for my IUI this afternoon. I now have 26 million swimmers on their way to my (hopefully) 3 eggs! I think that is the best count I have had so far. I forgot to ask about the motility though.

And it's the weekend!

Good Evening Everyone!

I'm having my favorite Friday night...nice glass of wine, great music, just relaxing. Ona, thank you for calling out my short cycle. I mentioned it to the doc today and he is going to update my meds next cycle to account for it. Unfortunately this current cycle is a bust.. I have three cysts, two on right, one on left. Oh well, maybe I can use this month to work off all that weight I seemed to gain from the meds (or the pounds of chocolate) last month. I hope everyone has a nice night!

Tami, that sounds like a good Friday night... I'm so glad you mentioned the short LP to your doctor. I think implantation can be between day 6 and 12, or somewhere in there, so a short LP can have a major effect. That's great that your doc is going to change things around.

Sorry about the cysts... try to rest up this cycle and do some 'you' things. I hope the cysts shrink right up and you can try again next cycle. I love chocolate...

Hooray Jen!!! You're officially sprogged! Your odds sound great and I have for you!!!!

Hey, now we're TWW buddies!

My 7dpiui has been uneventful...same symptoms, most likely progesterone induced, plus the new added fun of feeling dizzy/faint...I've also had one or two moments of sharp pain in my girlie regions, kinda like someone poking me with a needle. Hope I'm not getting some sort of weird infection.

Tami, I'm glad your doc is going to take care of the short LP as IUI is pretty much a waste of money if your fertilised egg doesn't get enough time to implant. Plus it can be a sign of things like low progesterone, which would cause early miscarriages, poor quality lining, or even inability for the embryo to implant. Rest up and I hope those cysts go away. So, tell us more about you... how long have you been TTC, what brought you to the decision to be a SMC, what do you do, what area of the world are you in? Sorry for the 20 questions, but it's nice to know more about the newbies, and of course, it's nice to have another lady join the group!

Anyway, my adoption class got cancelled for tomorrow because of Hanna descending on us which kinda sucks because I was looking forward to it and it would have been a nice distraction from the TWW obsessing.

So, not much planned for tomorrow...going to stay indoors and maybe do some work so I can get a jump on my tasks and hopefully make next week slightly less insane. Hoping they don't cancel the farmer's market on sunday.

Ok, I'm knackered so I'm off to bed. Jen, I am super excited for you and can't wait to see that !!!! :-D
