Just a quick post to let you all know that I had my IUI this morning, and all went extremely smooth
I told those swimmer that were sitting there in that vial that I just needed one of them to be strong enough to get to my eggie. I know they heard me too I should be ovulating in the next few hours. I have been feeling some action going on in my left side where I will be ovulating from. I am also going to acupuncture at 2:45 today to help give O that extra jump. The rest of the weekend is just for me and Kuma. I plan to take him down to the beach tomorrow so he can run around in the waves and roll around in the sand. Then it's off to his doggie wash to clean him up from his beach day and then he is sacked out for the rest of the day. Now, it's 2ww time I start prometrium tomorrow and hope that I don't have much side effects. Last time wasn't as bad as the first time so I am feeling pretty good that my body is used to it now I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Well, I broke down and POAS and got a BFN. i know it's early, I guess i'm just trying to prepare myself as I will be at work when I get the call on my beta's on monday. I"m going to try again tomorrow to see if I get any different result. I guess I'd rather prepare myself over the weekend, than get smacked in the face with it during the middle of the work day. My coworkers already think I'm crazy with as emotional as I have been.
Thanks everyone for all the support during my journey

Yay Mindi!!!!!!!! Welcome to the TWW club! Swim Phelpses Swim!!!!
Charl, it was probably way too early to tell...not sure how it works with IVF though. WHen are you supposed to start POAS? Today was fun...my class got cancelled but my best friend's brother had a wedding reception (he eloped in vegas last month) that I found out about last minute so it's good that class was cancelled cuz that meant I could go to the party. I had a blast. Oh, and because I am a sad TTCer, I calculated my due date if this cycle works... it would be my friend and future god mother's birthday!!! Now I really hope I have beginner's luck. What a gift that would be for her!

Whoo hoo, Mindi!!!
Here's to your successful TWW! Jen, it is really your turn with #9 I'd say! Here's to a restful lazy weekend full of Charltac, I was told the IVF result takes longer than nat. or IUI results as for some reason it takes a little longer to implant - maybe someone else knows more...? Ona, the sharp pain could be implantation! Especially if it starts to feel like a boring sensation... keep us posted on symptoms! Glad you had the party for a fun distraction! Tami, sounds like a good time to re-evaluate and take stock of your protocol, timeframes and save up for the future baby! It will happen one way or another if you want it to. Good luck getting rid of the cysts. Are they putting you on BCP or just letting time take care of it? Deej, thanks for the career update; impressive you've saved so well! I started out in private sector, but moved to public sector work a bit over a decade ago in preparation of eventual baby-making. I thought I might be getting married but didn't.... Decided I needed to consider being solo. Asked a few friends to be donors and mostly got turned down but the current flakey BF said yes . But he stalled when I got set up for IVF in '06. I was hurt and planned to go to CZ and use donor sperm, but then I waffled about it. Finally went in Mar. 08 - 2nd day of cycle developed a high fever and horrible cold ensued... just miserable with jet lag also. After that, three IUI's with DS all BFN and decided to stay stateside for IVF in Sept. Decided to give flakey BF another chance and seems he will be KD now. I hope to sell some real estate I (uh and the bank!) own by 2009 but 2011 latest and be prepared financially and careerwise to have more free time. Hoping for one bio child and some adopted or foster siblings for it, but one thing at a time(!).

charltac - sorry your test was negative... but it sounds like you still have a few days before a final answer - fingers crossed!
mindi - woohoo! i will be following and cheering for the bfp! jen - did you have iui? i need to go back and read!!! i so hope this is the one. styltryn - it sounds better than it is. i live very very simply, drive an old car that is paid off, live in a small place that is cheap! i am not complaining, i am very grateful for what i have and even more grateful that my wants are minimal - i would probably be miserable otherwise! plus the career field i am in does not make people wealthy. but i am happy, and have that to share with a child - a happy positive grateful attitude! i too had asked a friend to be a kd, he originally said no, but has offered since. i am on break and not giving it any thought. i am glad to read that your friend has offered to be kd! i love how all of us have different paths to get to the bfp, and i learn so much from all you ladies! ona - i am praying cheering crossing fingers that this is it!

Thanks Deej!! Ok, my turn... I've been pondering single motherhood since I was 25 but always considered it my "last resort". Originally I had told myself if I hadn't met my soulmate by age 30 I'd go for it, but kept dragging that date out, mostly because I didn't feel I was in the right place to be a single parent. This last year I finally felt ready because things like job, house, personal life, etc started falling into place. I even got health insurance that would cover the IUIs...then like a final sign, I got a response to my advert on a coparenting website froma really nice gay man. We hit it off and went through a process of getting to know each other, getting legal bases covered, etc. Then at the last minute he backed out. I was devastated but thanks to these ladies, I soldiered on and saw that DS was a good option and the right path for me. I got tested in April by an RE (every test in the book and now I question whether they ALL were necessary or whether he was just taking advantage of the fact that I had insurance to pay for it). Long story short, he was the worst doctor ever! Didn't listen. Seemed dismissive and rude. Prescribed me meds I couldn't tolerate (twice) and then when I said I wasn't taking them, told me "Well, you'll never get pregnant if you don't"... suffice to say I left him and found a new RE. Fortunately little time was wasted because during all that drama I had a massive cyst on my left ovary that wouldn't go away. it was caused by the clomid during my clomid challenge. Well, I saw my new RE and she gave me the green light for unmedicated cycle and went in for my u/s in August and the cyst was gone!!! So I was able to have my first IUI this month! YAY!!! Now I'm in my TWW and just waiting for results soon soon soon ![]()

Oh, I forgot...I am a cancer survivor and had surgery on both ovaries in the past. I went into perimenopause from the chemo when I was 24 but my periods eventually came back. For years I was told I'd "never have kids". The chemo caused some significant issues with weight and my metabolism and probably my adrenal system too... but I'm healthy and active. I work in I.T. and I'm also a paramedic and firefighter. I play ice hockey (although not now as I think my doc might get mad if I did while TTC) so instead I am going to take a dance class with my friend.

Hello ladies
....hope you all had a great weekend!!! Jen,yay on your iui !!! I'm hoping that number 9 is the charm !!! Mindi,I'm cheering those swimmers on from here it just takes one !!!!! Charl,it is still early and just fyi, with both of my iui pregnancies,I got acne (which I never get) about a week before AF should have shown up.on my first iui,I didn't get a bfp until 12 dpiui and on this one it was 10 dpiui,so there is a big window of opportunity... Ona,hope you're feeling better!! The 2nd week is always harder I think mentally... Deej, glad to hear things are going well... Kathryn, hope you and Davis are doing well !! Styltryn, how are you doing? Kuddley, yay on no cancer !!!!!that's awesome. Becca, fingers crossed for the new meds ... Peggy sue and Tami,hi how are you doing? I am feeling well much more adjusted to having twins but still a bit nervous..but SOOOOOO excited !! I don't feel much different than when I was pregnant with one, except I feel much bigger and bloated and I know my uterus is there,if that makes any sense..when I had my u/s on thursday, the nurse told me that I have two huge corpus luteum cysts, one on each ovary.she said that they expect them to be there at this point (they produce the progesterone that keeps the pregnancy going) and they may be uncomfortable, but its good that they are there.they are definitely uncomfortable, but not unbearable..

Teri, great to hear from you! You know we're going to be hounding you to post updates all the time now
bec this is so exciting. Ona and Deej and Mindi, thanks for the good thoughts. I am praying my cyst goes away in time for next u/s on the 16th. My RE said that I can get my meds online. So I went looking....is it safe and/or cheaper to get them (gonal-f) online from Canada, or just stick to USA sites, or does it not matter? If anyone has an exp with this feel free to post it bec I have no "inside" information on how to go about this next part. Much thanks~~

Oh, I guess I forgot to update myself on here. I'm 32, single, clinical social worker, master's degree that will prob never be paid off
, and proud owner of a mini schnauzer named Desi. I always knew I wanted to have kids, and yrs ago thought I would meet someone and it would work out the way it's "supposed to", but after 2 very bad rel'ps in my 20s, I've been single by choice for a few yrs. It's not easy but I didn't want to meet the same person again in another person's body, so to speak. Someday, I hope to meet someone but I decided about a yr ago, that I wanted to go about this on my own. I didnt want to wait till I was 38 or 40 to start, esp having endo and all. My parents and friends have been supportive, but sometimes I have had comments like, "You know how hard this is going to be". I have to take it in stride. That's why I like these boards so much. Sometimes after I read posts on here, I feel better than after I talk to my mom~!

Becca, I sure hope that cyst vamooses soon!
Mindi&Jen! I'm so glad you're in the wait with me... I see what you mean about the second week being worse. I'm counting down the hours til I can test. I went to Target today and bought some pregnancy tests so I am ready!!! :-) Teri, I am still doing a dance of joy for you! Did you get pics of the first ultrasound? If so you MUST share on the yahoo group!!!!! I bet your bump is bigger than most at this stage in pregnancy... how many weeks are you now? I occassionally will watch youtube vids of first ultrasounds to help with my visualization and there are a few where they find out it's twins and the woman is like "WHAT?!?!?!?" How did you react when you found out? How did the nurse announce it or did you notice right away? Ok, so 9dpiui and the sharp cramps are mostly gone. I had some AF like cramps after I took my prometrium but that's it today... relatively symptom free day. I'm trying to keep hopes up but keep feeling that nagging doubt knowing that the odds are low that I will have a bfp. Guess I need to go and do some more visualizing.
