Good luck Lilac. Keep us posted.

Dee Dee, I don't remember the 2ww being any different during clomid cycles. Ovulation hurt worse, but beyond that it was the same. Why? Are you feeling different symptoms?

Kathryn.

Hello Ladies!!

First of all let me say again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I just spent the last 20 minutes reading all of your posts.

Most of you know my story. I've been in the Air Force almost 18 years. When I was 22, I got pregnant for a guy I was really in to. Unfortunately, it was ectopic and he and I didn't work out. At 23 I got married ( I think I was vulnerable) and divorced 1 1/2 years later. We had started going through IF treatments, but when the marriage dissolved, I quit trying.

I really thought I'd be married again by now, but as I'm sure y'all know, you can't change a man. I wasted about 8 years waiting on a guy to get his life together, till I finally woke up.

I hadn't given much thought to IF since my divorce, because my cycles were regular, my hormone levels normal and all of my docs at my annual exams would say, "you've got plenty of time". I actually believed that crap. Well I switched bases, started a fresh outlook on life, and decided to go the single route. I tried to think I'd be okay without having children, I mean I can get up and go when I want, where I want, but I'm not okay.

Okay this may be a little funny, 'cause sometimes I'm absorbed in celebrity news, but I really think Alexis Stewart, and Halle Berry really helped me make up my mind. I didn't want to be 40 and have regrets that I didn't even try and after all that Halle Berry has accomplished she still was missing something in her life.

I think I'd be a good mother, and I'd hope my kid would understand I wanted him/her more than anything else in the world even without a father.

Something happens at 35ish. I mean we are all pretty fabulous now, but we have the confidence and the strength to go after what we want. BRAVO ladies!!!

Well I have my lap tomorrow morning, so I hope I get the all clear. If so I'm looking at an IUI on 31 Dec. my 3rd time will be a charm.

Erica

Thank you Erica for sharing your story! So many of us can relate to how times passes quickly, waiting for a relationship that is right for producing children! I too told myself I did not want to have regrets. I did not want to hit 40 and panic and start trying and realize I should have started earlier... I feel that even though I have started later in life, I have a few good years in me!
I did not realize that you had seen an RE prior to ttc this time. Were you able to use prior info to help with this new journey?
BEST OF LUCK TOMORROW ON HSG!!!!!

Today was a big day for news... Elove's HSG was clear, her #1 donor was available. Lilac poas and it did not come back the way we wanted it to!! DARN IT!
I am having absolutely no symptoms of anything, no s/e from the trigger, no sore bb's NADA. Maybe that is a good sign. This afternoon I had my stitches removed! It looks much nicer than I had expected, I was pleasantly surprised. For those who like medical stuff I can email the pic from the surgery.
Anything else going on with you ladies?
Su? m/s subsiding yet? or getting worse?
Kathryn? any pregnancy symptoms? Having never been pregnant, I love to read how different the experience is for each woman...
Big Hugs

Lilac, so sorry about the BFN.
Deej, don't worry about lack of symptoms - I had them some cycles and not others, I don't think you can predict anything from them.
As for me, yes the ms has subsided again to be replaced by ANOTHER cold (my 3rd in 4 weeks). Felt pretty crap on christmas eve and christmas day but bit better today.
My sister gave me some really cute newborn clothes for christmas. Its amazing to think this is my last christmas on my own.

Lilac--I'm so sorry about your BFN. Are you going to try again? I really think we are all getting close...

Su-- How cute... Newborn clothes for Christmas!! That's awesome your sister will be there with you every step of the way!! Great family support is truly a blessing.

Deej--I think I want a pic of the that surgery so I can fully grasp what you went through.
ericashipp@aol.com Don't poas before New Year's Eve!

So here's a couple of questions for all of the SMC....
Are y'all dating anyone? Would you date anyone while pregnant? New Year's kiss from anyone special? Okay now I nosey....

Here's an interesting story. One of my sister's best friends was a 30 yr old divorced single mother. She messed around with a married guy and got pregnant with #2. Well needless to say, she was going through this by herself. One day while shopping in a dollar store, a really nice guy began a conversation with her and asked her out. Jump forward 3 years later and they are married and he loves this little boy as if he were his. He is the only father the little boy has ever known. At first, I thought, "dang, this guy must be really desperate". But after I met him, I realized he really loves her. So that's why I asked the question. Mr. Right could still be right in front of you even if you are 8 months . Tell me what you think.

HAPPY NEW YEAR LADIES!!

Hey everybody.

Glad to hear things went well today, Erica. Lilac, sorry this isn't your month. I had hoped for more preggo SMs! Dee Dee, I'm still not feeling much in the way of symptoms. My boobs ache occasionally, but other times not at all. A few times, my stomach has felt a bit unsettled, but nothing I would really call queasiness. I'll feel better after the u/s on January 2nd, that's for sure!

As for dating? I don't think I have too much to worry about, living here in Atlanta! It seems like most of the men are gay! If I met a great guy, I wouldn't foreclose the idea of dating while going through this. But I can't imagine that there are that many guys in the world who would want to sign on!

Hope all the rest of you are doing well.

Kathryn.

Elove: I love to hear stories of how women find love when you least think it would happen! It gives me hope! On my SMC group, many women wrote about dating and TTC. My last experience with it was not so good. I was introduced to the brother of a friend I met on a retreat, who knew what I was doing! I saw this guy a few times, and it went nowhere, but when he told me he was seeing somebody else exclusively, it hurt. I had not seen him in over a month, so it was not like I thought we were dating anyhow, but for me, I have to keep focused on one thing! BUT when I am pregnant, I will go on dates, if somebody is brave enough to ask me out! I appreciate you sharing that story. It is what I hope will happen for me, and all the other singles ttc who want the same!
Kathryn, my beta is the same day as your u/s! I will be cheering for you.
Ahhh regarding a new years eve kiss, that would be nice!

Just checking in on you all. It is nice to see I'm not alone in this. I started my period on Christmas. I go today for my day 3 FSH to get a baseline and my cycle starts with some follistim this evening.
Sorry to hear your news Lilac and hopefully DeeDee will add something positive to our group.
Dating?! Please I could care less about a man right now. It's not so bad to be alone. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe one day, but not anytime soon.

I am so sorry to read that AF gave you an unwanted christmas gift. That plain sucks! You are SO NOT ALONE on this journey! So today the doc tests your FSH level? Do you have it checked each cylcle? I have had that done once, when I first had all of my initial blood work done...
I am not sure I can add anything positive to our group! Woke up today feeling a tad discouraged and slight pms feelings in my abdominal area. I was so discouraged I called my fertility coach and asked her how much the Lap surgery costs, b/c if I am not pregnant this round, that is the next step... I had 3 nice follicles, 10 million sperm and my lining was perfect? What could be the matter? Or dare I ask?
Any advice on if I should test or not? Today is 10dpiui...
Good luck on this cycle and with starting follistism tonight. What is follitism? Is it similar to clomid? I really hope this coming cycle is the one for you, and sorry to hear AF visited on chrsitmas! UGH
