Hello lasses,

I'm home safe and sound. My pets were happy to see me but I think they're a bit peeved.

Godiva, yfnr, Styltryn, thanks for the positive vibes!

Please keep them coming. I need all I can get for a miracle baby.

Susan, I've not felt much. My lower abdomen is a bit tender and it feels like a tiny bit of a cramp or tug but my ovaries feel nothing. Of course, I only had 3 follicles so I doubt I'm at risk for OHSS or that the ovaries even have any kind of swelling from the ER.

As for the shots. I think the bum shots hurt less than thigh (I've had to do those for epinephrine). My challenge is actually getting myself to contort enough to see my big fat bottom. If you get it in the spot Godiva mentioned (at the top of the bum) it doesn't hurt much at all. The first time I did it I got a little crazy with the icepacks and trying to numb it up, etc but then the second time I just couldn't be bothered and just jabbed myself (after a mini pepp talk to myself) and was surprised at how little it actually hurt.

So, I've been teetering between naive optimisim and doom and gloom and I still have quite a bit of waiting til my beta.

I'm worried about the size of my embies. Also, my experience with Dr Big Wig was less than what I had hoped for. The only reason I am not venting about the suckitude of it is that I am trying to keep a positive frame of mine.

Anyway, I have three little ones in there...they were only 4,4, and 6 cell embies and I have a photo of them. One of the 4 cells looks really pretty. The other two look less "perfect" if that makes sense. They didn't tell me any grading and when I asked about the size the nurse hedged. The doc asked "didn't I want to wait and see how they grew", but that is a whole 'nother story for another time and I am refusing to vent at this stage in the game.

I keep talking to them and telling them to be strong and defy the odds and grow and hang on in there. I hope they're listening.

Ok, time for me to snuggle in with my puppies. I sure missed my cuddle buddies.

Yay, Ona! I'm so glad you're home safe and sound. The pets will forgive you. Give them a bit of TLC.

Even small embies make babies, Ona! I remember awhile ago researching (after I transferred some small ones) and I was amazed. They do their best to judge the quality but they just don't know, really. Even bad looking embies become babies. So I would stick to the optimism. I'm feeling very optimistic for you!

I am very unimpressed with Dr Big Wig. VERY.

You just keep talking to my embies and encouraging them. They are all fighters. Yes, yes, I know they're really YOUR embies, but I'm feeling very attached to them! Give the pets a cuddle and soak up the joy of being home and PUPO.

My little passenger is draining all my energy. The days seem so short and then I realize that's because I'm sleeping all the time. I hope that means there's some fantastic growth going on in there!

Hi Ona, so glad you are back home and comfortably snuggling in with the fur-babies I'm sure they really missed you and are happy you're home. I agree with Jen, it's impossible to know how the embies are faring until more times passes. Completely sympathize how you feel as I know with the cost of IVF the TWW is more nerve-wracking, but I want you to know I'm thinking strong positive embie growing vibes your way! Sending heaps of baby-dust too!

Jen, sounds like your future baby is growing mightily which is sapping mommy-to-be's energy! I've heard the first trimester is the most tiring, so it sounds like a very healthy pregnancy underway with you!

I get Monday off, and have many projects to catch up on things I put off during my recent cycle. Clean out the car, house, yard, garden, mending work, etc. etc. I don't like that winter is nearly here. I always have less energy in colder months. I might be part bear as I feel like hibernating!

marisa - so sorry to hear about your BFN. i know how frustrating it can be when all the numbers line up but doesn't end up positive. keep the faith.

Ona and Susan - lots of your way. Take care of yourselves for the next few weeks. As for talking to the little embies - i found myself talking to them every night when i went to sleep. just somehow seemed like the thing to do and it made me feel better. good luck!

What a nightmare of injection, I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. Yesterdays injection I hit a blood vessel and boy is my leg sore, its so sore it hurts to walk so today I went to the assisted conception unit and they kindly did the injection for me today and Mon-Fri I'm going to get the nurses at work do do the injections. My only problem is I'm off to London to see Beyonce at the weekend so I'll have to grin and bear it.

Ona how you feeling? I'm feeling nothing, at the beginning of the week my boobs were sore, even before ET but now they're back to normal. My belly is still swollen and I'm back at work tomorrow, good job I have a size bigger pair of trousers to wear. I'm not confident at all because of how I feel and what I'm feeling.

Sending us both tons and tons of
I'd forget about bigwig Dr, just concentrate and relaxing and taking it easy.

Jen, sleeping is a good sign, can't wait for your next scan.

Thanks Emily! It does help to talk to them. I just hope they are listening.

Susan, that's awful about the shot! OUCH! I'm glad you have folks who will help with some of the shots.

Godiva, you read my mind... I've been pondering/obsessing over where my little ones are in their development.

As to my symptoms, can't really say I'm having any either so don't fret Susan. I'm getting the usual boobs on fire thing I get with progesterone, but nothing else. I am not reading anything into it as I know it could go either way no matter what I feel or what odd symptoms I have.

Oh, I forgot to mention yesterday that I made sure the trip home was totally non-stress and involved no lifting. I told the airline I needed wheelchair assistance and lifting assistance because I'd had a procedure done and they were awesome. They wheeled me to all my flights and took care of my luggage for me. So I was a good girl on my travels and didn't walk more than 10 feet. The main reason I wanted to share is to suggest anyone who does travel for IVF do this. It was mildly embarrassing being wheeled around, but it made it a very stress free travel experience with zero lifting.

Ona- Aren't you the smart one.... wouldn't have thought of that with the airlines.... you are one smart cookie! And if I have to travel even soon after ET/FET, I will remember that one! No symptoms are fine too.... Keep telling them to grow, grow, grow and snuggle on in for the long haul!

Susan- Lucky girl going to see Beyonce! Bet that will be a fabulous concert! Sorry about your awful shot experiences. Did you read my tips? Glad you can have nurse do them at work, and hopefully you will let them use your bum instead of your thigh!

Wishing everyone a great week!

Sorry about the shots, Susan. At least you have found some people to help you out.

Ona, that was so smart getting wheelchair assistance!

Don't worry about the symptoms or lack thereof, gals! You know they mean nothing. I felt nothing different on IVF #4 at all. However, I did read to the embies every night after dinner (I'm still doing that most nights, though of course I know there's just one now). And I started knitting baby booties (I did not know how to knit). No, I don't think this made the difference, but it helped me cope with the 2ww and put me in a good frame of mind!

Only a week or so to go, ladies! :cros s:

Hey Guys...hope everything is well with everyone!

I went to my midwife today and discovered that I'm already 2cm dilated and 60& effaced! I guess Max isn't going to hang around too much longer. I'm hoping at least another 2 weeks so I can be a fairly safe 36 weeks when he is born.

I have so much cleaning and organizing to do, yet so little energy to do it with. I guess I don't really have the choice though. I am going to ask my sister tonight if she'll hang out this weekend and help me clean (she's 19 so there's a 50/50 chance and I will probably have to bribe her with pay :P)

I may or may not be around much...I will link my facebook account her if anyone wants to friend me to keep updated on the baby...just let me know you're from here You can also see pics of the twins as I have never figured out how to post them here.

I don't think the link is working so you can search my username yfnr80

Hope everyone's good news keeps coming! I can't wait to hear about some BFP's around the corner.

Hey all, I hope everyone is doing well, especially you two in the 2ww. Argh.

AF arrived over the weekend, and I go in tomorrow morning at 6:30am to jump on the ride again with my day 3 u/s and b/w.

Ona and Susan, are you hanging in there?

Jamie, great to hear from you and thanks for the FB link, I sent you a friend request. It must be exciting to be so close, but let's hope the little guy stays put for a few more weeks!

and all over the place!

Woohoo Jamie! Sounds like you're getting close! I added you to my fb too. :-) I hope you get the help you need with getting chores and things done.

I'm hanging in there. Part of me is anxious for it to go quickly so I can find out if this worked but part of me just wants to stay here in limbo so I can at least be PUPO. Today my neighbour came down because I helped her get her kids from the bus and she said "hey there pregnant lady" and I was like "not yet" and she said "pregnant until proven otherwise". It was a bitter sweet comment if that makes sense.

Anyway, I'm not obsessing too heavily, though I did find a cool site that has lots of stuff for visualization. It's called the visible embryo. It's pretty swanky.

Ok, off to try and distract myself.

Yay Jamie! You are getting so close! I hope Max stays put for just a few more weeks though!

Good luck tomorrow Marisa!

Ona, I'm glad you're hanging in there. I hope you come up with lots of distraction. You will know in less than a week, though I totally understand not wanting to know at the same time. I was at that visible embryo site last week too!

How are you doing Susan?

I went out to dinner with my brother (who is already examining me each time he sees me, by the way, to determine if I 'look pregnant' yet) and ate so much that by the end of the meal I probably did actually look preggo! I think I just gained like 4 months worth of weight in one meal - that's what it feels like, anyway. Now I'm ready for my evening nap.

Hey all. Nothing new here. Well, other than Davis becoming even more clingy and deciding that he wants me to hold him in the middle of the night. Where has my good little sleeper gone?

Marisa, let us know how your appt. went.

Ona, welcome home.

Jamie, wow you are so so so so close! Of course, you can walk around for quite some time with a somewhat dilated cervix.

More later.

k.
