Man, I wish I was feeling the positive vibes I was feeling until this morning. Made the mistake of counting how many days past iui I had started my period before...
I will focus on it being implantation, and see what happens.

Hello ladies... seems you've been very busy while I've been offline (I'm at my parents' place so my access has been somewhat limited, darn it!). Still no AF for me.

I WANT to try again on my next cycle, but I don't know if I will. I know I probably should wait for my surgery date instead, but it could be a couple of months coming, and I want to feel like I'm doing something, you know? So I don't know yet. I really had a good feeling about this last cycle, but nothing.

Deej, don't read too much into your symptoms or lack of them. I actually had 2 cycles where I had a lot of cramping - I was convinced it was implantation, but no (obviously). Had sore breasts a couple of times too, but nothing. It seems like a lot of women have symptoms they think are AF on the way, and then they get s. And then some women have nothing and still get s. I tend to get symptoms the second week and s! Who knows, eh?

On the dating question, no, I am not seeing anyone at the moment. I'm not really looking to date right now, but if I DID happen to meet someone I would be open to it... Just for interest's sake, on the idea of men dating single mothers or single mothers to be - my younger brother (he's 30) is single and would like a family as much as I would. Maybe not immediately like me, but soon. As a man, some of the options I've chosen are obviously not open to him. He was telling me last week that he would be interested in dating a single mum as another route to gaining the family he wants...

Next week is a big week for some of us... I'm still disappointed with my own result and don't know what I'll do next, but I am hoping we get some great news from others next week! Come on ladies, bring on the luck!

I think 10 days piui is too early to test. But I will say that one of my only early symptoms was AF-like cramping. So don't read too much into that at this point.

Follistim is a synthetic hormone that stimulates your body to produce lots more follicles. I used it with both iuis and ivf. Although I only have one ovary, I ended up with something like 12 follicles.

Sadly, procreation at my age is a numbers game. Statistically speaking, at the age of 40, 90% of my eggs are wonky from having sat on the shelf too long. That's why my RE had me stimulating like crazy, hoping for one good egg. It just didn't work for me, which is why I moved on to donor embryos.

But you are younger than I, so I hope the 3 follies gets you good and knocked up!

Lilac: i have read that some ladies take a long time for af to arrive after a medicated cycle. maybe that is it? too bad you cannot call the doc and ask! do you feel ok otherwise? I can relate to not wanting sit out a cycle while waiting for the procedures. After my third iui, my doctor mentioned the lap procedure if this medicated cycle does not work. For a brief moment I had thought about going straight to the lap and sitting out this cycle, so one never knows. I hope you are peaceful with whatever decision you make... And thank you for sharing the story about your brother. I feel for men who want children, their options are more limited that single women wanting children!

I think my AF is delayed because I was on prometrium this cycle, and that will delay AF. Now that I'm so sure it's BFN, once the prometrium's out of my system, AF should come. In theory, anyway!

I feel pretty good otherwise! Well, as good as one can feel when one has been disappointed, anyway... I think I will wait for AF and then see about the next cycle. Hopefully I will be able to get a date for the lap in January and when I know how long I might have to wait then I can make a decision as to what to do... I'm trying to tell myself that I still have time, but nevertheless the idea of sitting out for a cycle or several cycles does not make me happy...

Lilac: i have read that prometrium delays AF. that may give you some relief knowing that?
let me know what your doc says about when you may have the lap done. we may be lap buddies! if i am not pregnant this round, i am not going to spend another $1500 on another cycle without having the surgery done. the big IF is, if insurance does not cover the surgery i am out of the game. one lady told me her surgery was 17K! that is ridiculous! for outpatient surgery??
needless to say, i have been more sad today than in a long time! i have been weepy all day long just like when i had the s/e from the trigger shot. my belly feels pms-ish and i do not have my usual high hope! UGH. i used one of my ovulation sticks to make sure trigger is out of my system, it is all out. and if i were pregnant it probably would have shown something? i do not have any hpt's but if af does not arrive tomorrow i am going to poas on saturday. i want to know so i can deal with the emotions.
I understand that ttc is a roller coaster ride and the beauty of it is, when it is too much to handle, you can get off. Like you said, I have done everything right, and then some! But still no BFP so who knows... It seems ignorant on my part to spend all of my money diagnosing why I cannot get pregnant and trying to get pregnant, if I will not have any money left to raise a baby. I am at a crossroads, and waiting to see what my next move is.
Good luck with your decision to sit or not to sit! From a financial standpoint, my decision may be made for me!

Deej--How you hanging in there? Today is almost over...whew, just a few more left. These next days will be hard, but just know we are all pulling for you.

Lilac--I'm sorry you have gotten AF yet. I know you must feel your doc's office is prolonging the inevitable. If you do decide to have the lap, have you thought about acupuncture until then? I've been doing some reading since I just got my first session and some websites suggest doing acupuncture once a week for two months before beginning treatment. I am a skeptic by nature (well maybe only gullable in the men department ), but I think the acupuncture I had yesterday, may be reacting on my ovaries. I've been havings lots of pangs today, and for a second I thought I could have been ovulating early. I'll know for sure tomorrow morning for my u/s, but I really do believe the session is actually stimulating my blood flow and my follicle development. At the very least, it will give you time to focus on you. Just a thought.

Alleykag--Good luck on this cycle. We all deserve to be pregnant in 2008!!

Kathryn--How are you doing Momma!! Have you already had your first u/s?

If I do sit out and wait for the surgery, doing acupuncture would at least make me feel as though I am doing something! And, I guess a short break would let me save up some more cash, which wouldn't hurt.

I had to laugh when you wrote about the lady at the grocery store! I can relate to that feeling. Re the poas, I do have the test in case I want to, but I think AF will beat me to the punch! She always has!

Hello Ladies!!
Well for a cd11 scan, things went really well. As you know I'm only seeing an OB at this point, and he says, "let's check the follicles to see what day next week we'll be doing this." Then I said, "Well I was hoping it would be Monday since y'all are closed on Tuesday." He looked at his nurse and asks, "Is the office closed on Tuesday?", and she replies, "yes it is". Well no worries, because as soon as he stuck that little (no big ) u/s probe in me (he has the screen turned so I can't see) he says, "Oh yeah, we'll be doing this on Monday."

I have 1 big follie on the left-19mm (but it's of no use), and 3 follies on the right 2 13s and a 14. Do y'all think the 3 on the right will mature? I'm not sure how ovulation works when on IF drugs.

I have another question. Do y'all mix up your own HCG or does the nurse do it for you? I ask because the nurse has been doing this for me and it's usually no big deal because I use it within 12 hours. Well without thinking before she mixed it, I realized it will 10pm tomorrow night that I actually use it. Then on top of that I just learned I was supposed to be refrigerating after I mixed it. Do you think the injection will still be good tomorrow? I'm hoping so.

Lilac--How's it going? Any more AF-like cramps. I've been thinking more about the acupuncture, and maybe you alternate that between body massages. I mean don't get me wrong, I feel the acupuncture is working, but I'm also wondering if a good ole' fashioned massage would create Zen in my life

Deej--How are you feeling darling? Thinking about POAS must be driving you bananas. Well what ever you decide, we're here for you. Just a couple of more days...

Your numbers sound good! I read that follicles can grow 2mm a day, so the ones you have should be perfect by monday! Regarding the trigger, the one I use is Ovidrel, a pre filled syringe. So no, I have not had to mix it myself. If you know the name of the medicine some other ladies on the forum maybe familiar w/ it and can answer your question!
