No forum for 2 days????

FertilityCommunity.com will be offline for a scheduled upgrade of our network hardware starting Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 6:00PM PST and should be back online Saturday, March 15, 2008. During this time, we will be moving all of our websites to new and improved servers, which will result in much better user experience for you.

We love to hear your feedback, so please come back on Saturday and experience the changes we've made, then send us an email and tell us how we did.

Thanks for your patience during this time
The FertilityCommunity.com Team

LADIES: It was hard enough not being able to keep up when I was out of town, but to have my computer right here and no forum?? That is just wrong!
Erica: if you are reading these, let us know how you are doing!
Some of you have my personal email, feel free to use it while the server is down...

I know, I know, it will be difficult to cope! I'm trying not to think about it...

Erica, Teri, how were things today? Getting anxious here...

Becca, definitely good riddance on the not-friend. You really don't need that sort of thing in your life! Good luck next week - I'll be thinking of you.

Teri, I'm sorry you didn't get to do your iui this time, but that is great that your doc is trying something different for the next cycle!

Teri, I'm sorry this cycle was a bust.

Becca, I'm happy you kicked that girl to the curb. It sounds like you have enough friends in your life that you don't need to put up with someone like that.

I'm fine. Work my first maternity stuff yesterday ... some pants I got from Old Navy. I'm not really ready for maternity, but my regular pants just don't work anymore.

Kathryn.

Hello lasses,

Teri, what a bummer!!!! Keep up your spirits! Next time will benefit from this "test run" and think of all the money you are saving on spermies! I have good good feelings for you. My best friend has PCOS and she got preggo via natural after just 6 months when she was around your age. You are still young...heck, when you do get your , which will be soon, you won't even be considered "advanced maternal age" like the rest of us old ladies. ;-) hehe.

Becca, I'm glad you kicked the loser "friend" to the curb and I think ignoring her is the best course of action. Good luck with your surgery!!!

Kathryn, rub your belly for me for luck! Have you tried getting those waist extender things for pants? Then you could keep wearing your current slacks and jeans...

Ok, I am on the edge of my seat for Erica. Where are ya girl???

lilac, i go in for injection teaching on thurs . i am excited about that. how are you doing?

ona, i have gotten pregnant before on my own & i know i can, i am just very impatient . and you're not of "advanced maternal age", you are just a bit more mature than i am! and its funny because my RE always talks about how young i am when i go in, he says i am just a baby myself, i never thought i'd be happy to hear that!

deej, my RE said that the clomid just didn't work. he said that it was more than likely because on occasion, i have cycles that go over 40 days because of the pcos. i have never gone longer than 2 months without a period though, so he thought i would have a chance at it working. i have been fairly regular on my own since 2005 & he said that some women with pcos are, but i don't ovulate every month. he said i do ovulate on my own sometimes, just not with any predictabilty. i hate pcos

I'm sorry ladies I've been MIA!!! I just really needed a break from everything this week so I could enjoy the good news I did receive. I started AF on Monday so no baby this time. I also made the decision to sit out a month. I think I really needed it. Anyways, I have my gp appt on 1 Apr to get my referral for an RE so that will probably put me at end April beginning May; therefore, I may still do one more clomid iui. The thing that frustrates me is I have had no tests. Teri I am sorry your iui was cancelled but at least you're having the tests!!! Good luck to you. I was actually thinking I would like to do at least 2 iuis on injectibles before moving on to IVF. My OB/GYN doesn't do injectibles because of the close monitoring also remember no weekends. So we'll see. Question: do you think I should just break until my RE or try one more clomid round with my OB/GYN?

We'll I refused to let AF ruin my good news.... YAY!!! I got promoted!!! That's about $650-$700 more a month! All I kept thinking was...wow now I can take a loan out for IVF! Crazy, huh? Most of the girls on the iui sight have topped out at 4-5 and moved onto IVF successfully. I know we haven't talked about it in a while but I'd like to know if y'all are even thinking about IVF.

Thank you all for being there for me. It was nice to turn off IF for a while but know that I'm always thinking of you. I'm in a military exercise this week so the fun just never stops. I'll be better this week.

Lots of Love,
Erica

congrats

Congratulations on the promotion and pay raise! That is just awesome, great news!
I am sorry AF came, never good news, but I agree do not let it keep you from celebrating your promotion.
Regarding taking a break or not, give it some thought and let your heart guide you. I know you do not have much time because of the clomid start date, that makes it hard. In my experience, I cannot describe that almost frantic feeling of having to sit out a month, to the peace I felt when I actually did sit out. For me, ttc had taken over my emotions, as if I was not trying the world would come to an end! I know at my age each month counts, but so does my physical and mental health. If you feel like your body is asking for a break, take one. If you feel like you can go for another IUI, go for it! I too may be at the crossroads of IUI/IVF, but plan on 1 more IUI before giving it serious thought. I have to be concentrating on the matter at hand (IUI) as opposed to focusing on what I may or may not have to do if what I am currently doing does not work! That is the madness my mind took me to, and I hope not to repeat!
It is nice seeing you back on the boards, and I wish you the best with whatever decision you make! Any decision will be the right one because it is the one your heart and head have guided you to...

Erica, that's great news! Well, half great news, anyway! I was kind of hoping you'd have bfp news AND promotion news, but still great!

A short break may do you good and you are on your way to your first RE appt. All good news. You're sure to get the testing you want then and if you decide to do one more iui before that, well fine.

On the IVF question, it's certainly in the back of my mind that I might have to go there. Originally it was questioning whether I would go that far... the answer now being yes (I actually find I'm more and more determined to do what it takes). However, I'm quite willing to do several more iuis with clomid and/or injectibles before I go that far. IVF is more invasive and more expensive and I'd rather avoid it if I can. I'm sort of hoping that there's some obvious and easily fixable reason it hasn't happened for me yet and I will proceed to my bfp following the surgery!

Congrats on the promotion, Erica! I'll write more later. I've had a crazy busy weekend (tornados and all) and I need to go take a bath.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

Hello All,

Erica, I am so pleased that you got the promotion!!! That's a HUGE raise! I'm sorry AF decided to show, but think that it's all part of the plan for all us remaining gals to get BFPs at the same time!

I agree with Deej and Lilac both on the IVF thing and on the taking a break thing.

I would personally like to avoid IVF if at all possible. If I did it, it would be at huge risk to my health because it could result in a reoccurance of my cancer. But hey, since I'm planning on a successful IUI process with beginner's luck.

Kathryn, I was thinking about you when I heard about the tornadoes... unreal that there were even tornadoes in town. I hope you are doing alright and that things aren't too chaotic down there.

Teri, it sounds like your doc has everything very well thought out and it's nice that he decided to start out with a conservative approach, even if it didn't work. I wish my doc would call me a young thing or a baby! I didn't know you were pregnant before. Did I miss (or forget) something...us old ladies sometimes have senior moments. ;-)

I had a really nice weekend which was only marred by the fact that I am getting sick. Went to my friend's house for her St Patty's bash and that was lots of fun, but then around 8pm I felt like I was hit by a train. My friend even looked at me and went "are you ok?". I just felt drained. Well, her son recently had croup, and her friend who's been staying with her had a nasty flu, so I must have caught some sort of uber-virus that went on an instant rampage. Driving home my throat began hurting and then today I felt craptastique! I went out for a horse group meeting and dinner but the whole time I was achy, had a sore throat, and felt feverish.

Have to work tomorrow so that will be interesting!

That's all the excitement here. Still no health insurance. Will have to pester my boss again tomorrow. *sigh*

Big hugs all around and here's to us remaining gals getting our bfp's the next go around!

Cheers!

O.
