Ona - I like the idea of re-introducing ourselves!!
i am recently 38, thought about being a SMC from age 32 (when i got divorced) but only thought of it as PLAN B as i thought i would remarry... thinking got more serious when i was 36, stopped dating, began reading more about SMC, joined SMC! began ttc LAST august... ON BREAK! i did see some chat about professions - i have a BA and MA, use neither. went to work for family when i began ttc, as it would allow for flexibility w/ doc appts... took huge pay cut, but have saved saved and saved so that WHEN i have my child i can stay home for one year. i could add more but that is me in a nutshell! planning on moving to ona's farm w/ all her animals to care for them when she has her baby... ok, that is plan C!! i miscarried in august and am taking some time to regroup, let my hormones balance out. in the meanwhile i get to cheer on my SMC ladies! and now, going to sleep!UPDATE - regarding cousin w/ son who needs transplant - they had some more testing today, thumbs up, its a GO!

Well, I broke down and POAS and got a BFN. i know it's early, I guess i'm just trying to prepare myself as I will be at work when I get the call on my beta's on monday. I"m going to try again tomorrow to see if I get any different result. I guess I'd rather prepare myself over the weekend, than get smacked in the face with it during the middle of the work day. My coworkers already think I'm crazy with as emotional as I have been.
Thanks everyone for all the support during my journey

Yay Mindi!!!!!!!! Welcome to the TWW club! Swim Phelpses Swim!!!!
Charl, it was probably way too early to tell...not sure how it works with IVF though. WHen are you supposed to start POAS? Today was fun...my class got cancelled but my best friend's brother had a wedding reception (he eloped in vegas last month) that I found out about last minute so it's good that class was cancelled cuz that meant I could go to the party. I had a blast. Oh, and because I am a sad TTCer, I calculated my due date if this cycle works... it would be my friend and future god mother's birthday!!! Now I really hope I have beginner's luck. What a gift that would be for her!

Whoo hoo, Mindi!!!
Here's to your successful TWW! Jen, it is really your turn with #9 I'd say! Here's to a restful lazy weekend full of Charltac, I was told the IVF result takes longer than nat. or IUI results as for some reason it takes a little longer to implant - maybe someone else knows more...? Ona, the sharp pain could be implantation! Especially if it starts to feel like a boring sensation... keep us posted on symptoms! Glad you had the party for a fun distraction! Tami, sounds like a good time to re-evaluate and take stock of your protocol, timeframes and save up for the future baby! It will happen one way or another if you want it to. Good luck getting rid of the cysts. Are they putting you on BCP or just letting time take care of it? Deej, thanks for the career update; impressive you've saved so well! I started out in private sector, but moved to public sector work a bit over a decade ago in preparation of eventual baby-making. I thought I might be getting married but didn't.... Decided I needed to consider being solo. Asked a few friends to be donors and mostly got turned down but the current flakey BF said yes . But he stalled when I got set up for IVF in '06. I was hurt and planned to go to CZ and use donor sperm, but then I waffled about it. Finally went in Mar. 08 - 2nd day of cycle developed a high fever and horrible cold ensued... just miserable with jet lag also. After that, three IUI's with DS all BFN and decided to stay stateside for IVF in Sept. Decided to give flakey BF another chance and seems he will be KD now. I hope to sell some real estate I (uh and the bank!) own by 2009 but 2011 latest and be prepared financially and careerwise to have more free time. Hoping for one bio child and some adopted or foster siblings for it, but one thing at a time(!).

charltac - sorry your test was negative... but it sounds like you still have a few days before a final answer - fingers crossed!
mindi - woohoo! i will be following and cheering for the bfp! jen - did you have iui? i need to go back and read!!! i so hope this is the one. styltryn - it sounds better than it is. i live very very simply, drive an old car that is paid off, live in a small place that is cheap! i am not complaining, i am very grateful for what i have and even more grateful that my wants are minimal - i would probably be miserable otherwise! plus the career field i am in does not make people wealthy. but i am happy, and have that to share with a child - a happy positive grateful attitude! i too had asked a friend to be a kd, he originally said no, but has offered since. i am on break and not giving it any thought. i am glad to read that your friend has offered to be kd! i love how all of us have different paths to get to the bfp, and i learn so much from all you ladies! ona - i am praying cheering crossing fingers that this is it!
