Looks painful but really it's not that bad. The first night was bad but now that tape you see is itchy and annoying more than anything. I live in the North East and it is turtle neck season, I am thankful for that!

Hi Jen,
I'm glad you're up and writing in again. How is your voice? I know you mentioned that your voice might be affected.
Glad to hear that it looks more painful than it really is! You're not in CT, are you? That is where I am originally from. Good doctors in the Northeast - I know you are in good hands.
Take care of yourself!

Hi Cath~

Thanks, I am in NE PA 1 hour from Manhattan, 45 minutes to Philly, 1/2 hour to Allentown or 1/2 hour the other way to Scranton. It's sort of the perfect place IMO of course I used to live in OLD SAYBROOK, CT. Where in CT were you?

Hey Jen,
I grew up in Glastonbury, CT and lived there until I was 24. Then, I moved to Wallingford because I got a job in Milford. I really liked CT, but it was SO cold in the winter. Now I live in Georgia. I like it, but I miss living near NYC and Boston. Old Saybrook is really nice - it must have been great living near the ocean! I used to go to a great restaurant called Cherrystones in Old Saybrook. My brother-in-law lives in Mechanicsburg, PA! I think that is near you (?)
It's a small world!
Take care!
Cathy

Wow, that does look bad. I am glad it doesn't feel that bad (I have had horrible after surgery bruising but it never really hurt that bad--glad you got the same thing!)

Hope you get back to normal and heal with out a scar!!!!!! Hey, I can hope for you, they said I would have three red scars about half an inch from my knee surgery and you can only see one easily!!!!! And I know how itchy those strips can get!!! Frustrating!

Good Luck!!!!!!!

Jen-
That picture looks painful. It is good that you got it done during the winter so that you can wear the turtlenecks! Good timing!! Please take care.

I know it looks awful right now but thanks for your kind words, I'll post a new pic in a few days when I can see some real progress. My bruises usually last about 2-3 weeks so I am sure it will look so different when they disappear. They must have used some kind of substance in the area because I also have a bumby rash type of thing today maybe it's just clogged pours or something. I am too self consious to go out of the house yet. When we were driving home from the hospital we went thru a contruction zone and had to slow down it was awful as the workers where staring at me and my husband in disgust as if he stabbed me or beat me or something there was cop at the sight he looked as if he was going to wave us over to the side to question us. UGH!

Cathy~ Yes Old Saybrook was so beautiful, our house was where the mouth of the River meets the ocean, it was very unique as we had salt water marine life living in our back yard which was a few acres from the river bank. And the resturant you're thinking of was amazing wasn't it! I miss all those beautiful sail boats!!!! No ocean here in PA! I see Mechanicburg on the news but I have to admit I have no idea where it is, I am a bit directionally challenged! LOL

Jen,
Nice to see you are back. How did everything go. Thanks for posting the pic, while some may see it as gross or graphic it's something I personally was hoping to see....just in case I have to go through the same thing. I hope you are recovering well. What great news that your first cycle after surgery you get to go in for a re-work, sounds like things are progressing well. Keep us posted.

How do you feel?

You poor, poor thing! I hope that you are feeling better soon. It doesn't look so bad... just really sore.

Hey, btw, thank you a million for the information you sent my way regarding helping my BIL and SIL. I forwarded the details onto them... and they are in the process of doing some of those things. It's still bad there.... really, really bad.... I was there for T'giving and it made me want to cry. I'm so afraid they will just get divorced rather than fight for their family, but I can't make them do anything. I'm hoping that they can come out of the bad times and be stronger as a couple. I really appreciate all the info you gave me! It's going to help them a lot!

Karen,

I am so happy it helped! When things like this happen it's our ego's that get hit hardest. We got thru it but I admit it wasn't easy, especially on my husbands' "provider" ego! The great news is because no one would hire him because of the disability and his company would not ok him for full duty (there was a horrific cut in pay) we rolled the dice and set up our own company and Karen it TOOK OFF! We are making more money than we ever dreamed of, all with in a year of his heart attack! Life is so weird!
