Grrrr...brownish spotting came back....this is such a frustrating rollercoaster
I just really really really hope it works out this time. I'm going to be soooooo freaking sad if I have another m/c. I know that 30% of women spot during pregnancy, but 50% of those miscarry, I think that is really crappy odds. Wow, I sure am feeling sorry for myself this morning, sorry! Lisa the u/s is Friday.Hope you guys are having a better day! Keep your chin up Lisa, you have no reason at this point to think its not your time ![]()

Maren,
Oh man, does your Dr. advise bed rest or anything because of the spotting? I wish you were not on that rollercoaster. And you are right, those odds are super crappy. As hard as it may be, try not to give up faith that his will work out. You sound scared and that is a reasonable thing right now. But, I hope this passes soon and friday brings welcome news to comfort you. I am thinking of you and everything is ok. Hang in there! Hope the rest of you are having a good day!

Thank you Lisa!
Well I've learned that sometimes things get worse before they get better. Yesterday the spotting got worse, redder with some tissue, I started having cramping and really strong lower back pain. I took tylenol and a bath to no avail. I finally decided to come to terms with what was happening and went to the ER. I cried the whole way. However once I got there they did a pelvic and said my cervix was closed. Good news. Next they did an ultrasound and found two beating hearts at 126 & 134 bpm. Yeah I was sooooo happy! It does look like there were two other sacs or blood clots, they couldn't really tell. The er doc figures that one of them looks like it was a baby that didn't develop and I was probably losing it. While that is sad, I was so happy still to seeing heartbeats, I've never seen those before. Now I know I'm not out of the woods yet. In fact the doctor told me not to get too excited b/c I could still m/c them all (nice right) but I feel a whole lot better. He put me on bed rest until I can see my RE on Friday. Thank you all for your good wishes, support and please continue to for us that there are still babies there and healthy on Friday.Hope everyone else is well and I hope your bad days get better soon as well!

Maren!
Twins Hooray! That is wonderful news! I can't tell you how happy I am for you! At least you know now what was up with the spotting. I know you are still scared but for now this is great. 2 beating hearts! I will pray that those babies continue to grow. Bedrest sucks. Good luck at the RE tomorrow. I know that the ER doc's not overly reassuring words were not what you wanted to hear. But try to be happy about the blessing you have now and rest up. So much of this is out of our hands and that is frustrating. However, try to keep positive. You may just be holding those 2 beautfiul babies in your arms before you know it. So, DH was with you at the ER right? How is he taking all of this?

Thanks Lisa! Actually he wasn't there so that made it even more scary. But I felt I needed to go and he wasn't going to be home for a few more hours. He is really excited and pretty much told me he knew the whole time everything was going to be ok
Now he's crazy about me drinking my water which is cute. So now we wait again. I feel a lot more confident now since they were the right size and had average heartrates. Although I'm still worried b/c there was blood in the uterus and they have to determine if its coming from a m/c of one of the empty sacs or if its from a blood clot. Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it!

Lisa and Maren! Just wanted to give you guys a little extra support and . Know your feeling scared. But you have to try and stay positive. Maren-stay focused on the two strong heartbeats. WOW! So excited for you. And be sure to follow doc's orders of bed rest. I'm sure your DH won't mind picking up some fast food for dinner for a few days or so(LOL). And Lisa, try to keep thinking how great that your numbers are doubling like they should be. You might want to update your ipod with a few more positive songs. Just wanted to drop a quick line for some support. Have to get my stuff ready for work tonite. Will check back in tomorrow. Have a great evening! Cindy |

Maren----Twins!! That's so exciting! Try not to worry too much. I think I posted this before, but w/ multiples I was told that some spotting (even bright red) was normal. I was in the exact situation. I had so much blood and some tissue that I passed, I thought for sure that one my babies misscarried. But when I went to the er,they were all still there. It thought for sure that w/ the amount of bleeding I had and ,especially w/ the tissue that I passed, that I had a m/c.
I'm so excited for you! Keep us posted on your u/s tommorow. Lisa----When is your u/s?

Courage
Maren,
Wow! You are a brave soldier, going to the ER alone! But you had to do what needed to be done. I hope todays visit went well and you are managing bedrest ok. I am so excited for you and the twins! I know that the news must feel bittersweet and still not knowing where the blood is coming from very upsetting. Hang in there, you are doing great! Continued for a happy healthy family. Daisy, Hi there! Thanks for the support! My u/s is a week from today (friday 3/20) and feels like FOREVER. I can't wait to see whats happening in there. Last time when I went in we only saw the yolk sac and I stupidly agreed to not come back for 4 weeks. The Dr. gave no indication that anything was wrong and I did not push back to come in sooner to see a hb. This time I am ready. If there is no HB yet I am totally coming back in a week. But for now I am still trying my best to think positive and enjoy this pregnancy. So, anything new with you? How is it being back at work now that you have been back for a while? Cindy, !!!!!! You are such a sweetie to offer up such encouragement! I really appreciate that! I have been sticking to the "happy songs" on the ipod. One that I really love is "A New Day Has Come" by Celine Dion (cheesy, I know). It really fills me with hope that things are going to be ok. Plus I have been watching TLC a lot more on tv and all the baby shows help me to visualize a happy ending here. Funny story though, DH was upstairs while I was watching a show and was in the middle of the labor part. He came downstairs after it was over and was like "What was all that screaming about? She sounded like someone was trying to kill her!" I explained that HELLO!!! Labor is PAINFUL! He thought she was some rare exception with all the screaming. I then told him that maybe he should watch these with me to get accustomed to what happens in the delivery room. He said that he would rather NOT know if that is what is is like. Ugh! So, I think he felt bad cause then he helped me clean the house and is being much more attentive. Men! So, how are you holding up? To the rest of the ladies in our "Saddle Club": I hope you all are well and keeping strong no matter what stage of this process you are currently in. I think of you all often and pray we all get our wishes come true. Also, I found this quote that seems very fitting for us "COURAGE IS BEING SCARED TO DEATH - BUT SADDLING UP ANYWAY" John Wayne. I know that for some of us that means just getting through the day and dealing with our fresh grief. And for others it may mean thinking about and actively pursuing treatments. And to some of us it means even though we are pregnant again, having that faith that this time can be different. I think you all are a very courageous bunch. We seem to build each other up. I know that support helps me tremendously and I hope you all find a sense of peace from our sisterly bond. to all. I hope today is a good one!

Hi ladies! Quick post b/c I'm exhausted. U/S was good, heartrates increased. RE figures there never was a third baby but rather its just blood in the uterus which is very common. He said I'd probably bleed more before it stopped. He said to take it easy and no sex but otherwise its not a big deal and everything was "perfect." He said I was more than welcome to come in everyday to get u/s if my mind needed that which I thought was very nice. So sounds good right? Then I get in the car and see he checked "threatened miscarriage" as the primary diaganosis. WTF? Anyways I'm trying to stay positive and think about what he said and not the check box. So frustrating though!
Keep the faith my friends, we'll all get through the sorrow we are walking through to see brighter days. Goodnight!

M.i.a.
Hi ladies! How is everyone doing? Sorry I haven't dropped in, been trying to play catch up with some of the housework. I had my follow-up with the OB on the 11th and she gave me an all clear. That is good news and also had a visit from AF, which threw me for a loop, cause I wasn't sure how soon to expect a visit. And it wasn't like other normal times, the cramps, headache, back pain. It was just strange
. The OB did say that they would be wacky for a while. Boy was she right! So now I'm just waiting til next week, the 26th(6wks post d&c) which is when the OB said it would be ok to start testing/tracking hcg levels again to call the RE. I don't wanna call them and let them know I got an all clear only to have them say come in tomorrow for bloodwork and go through the same scare like the first time. Patience is a virtue and I was blessed with my dad's patience. If I can wait, they can too! That's about it for me.Lisa- How you holding up with the wait? By the way I don't think Celion Dion is cheesy. I would'nt say I'm a huge fans of hers, but I do appreciate very talented artists, and she's an amazing one. I've actually been watching a show on Discovery Health called Deliver Me. It follows the practice of three female OB/Gyns in California. One of the doc's just underwent IVF(ZIFT) and she is BFP. But she had a mc after having done an IVF/BFP prior to this last procedure. It's nice to see someone actually talk/show how they are dealing with IF. That the struggle is not easy and that there is heartache. The media paints this picture of IF as being a cinch to deal with nowadays. You pop a pill or do a shot and heres your baby/babies(ala octomom!) live happily ever after. Far from the truth. My DH was the one who came across this show and told me about it. Go figure. I would say there is hope for your DH yet. Maren-How are you feeling? Are you still on bedrest? I wouldn't pay attention to any of the paperwork. Again just focus on the fact of two wonderful strong heartbeats. It's nice to know that the RE is willing to do the u/s's often. Hope your feeling well. Sam-Good luck with the Beta on Friday. Anj-How are you doing? I hear your frustration. You need to take a quick break and relax. If you can, go away for a long weekend. Go to a spa, a B&B, anywhere. Away from your surroundings, just so you can clear your mind and reconnect with yourself and your DH. I'm sure it will give you a new perspective on everything. Daisy-I'm sorry to hear that you can't do an IVF treatment at this time. We are still new to the IF treatment process and responded to IUI. So I think the RE will continue with same treatment plan as last. Should we reach the IVF stage and exhaust those measures, I'm not sure what we would do. I God gives you the strength and means to continue in this journey.Jen-How is the reconciliation with your dad going? Have you two been able meet up for coffee yet? It's nice to hear that he is on the mend phsically and emotionally. Hope you're doing better. And by the way, I'm in Chicago. Dre- Thinking about you.Wish you all a very Happy St. Patrick's Day tom. Hi ladies! I've been following this thread, and wonder if I might join in as well? You seem like a great group!
I just got a on an HPT yesterday, had blood drawn today and will get my Beta numbers tomorrow. I'm excited but very nervous given what happened last time. It's brought up a lot of fears and feelings that maybe I didn't fully process then. At the same time, I don't want to miss out on any of the joy because I'm wallowing in fear.Looks like many of you are PG...congrats!!!
