After the loss of my son at 18 weeks due to PPROM, I find myself so anxioius about being able to have the baby we have been dreaming of. I am not fearful, but hopeful.

We were able to get a consultation with our RE on Thursday last week. He was so sorry and like us, is wondering why, which of course we may never know even after the testing comes back. He did an internal ultrasound, where he saw the fibroids I had before, but none of them seemed to be much larger than when I got pregnant, or in "bad" locations. I need to wait until my first cycle and have bloodwork done including FSH, TSH. Then at my next cycle he wants to do a sonogram in the office where he will inject fluid in my uterus to see the shape and where we stand.

It's only been 9 days since our loss, and I am still grieving so much. I am just looking forward to being able to try again, and hopefully without complications. I have been searching for stories of success after miscarriage, how long will it take for my cycle to start, etc...I am still cramping now and again and bleeding, every day but not heavily. Also - is there any reason DH and I should not try on our own once my cycle returns before getting to the next IUI or IVF based on what the RE suggests?

I just wanted to say that I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish I had some magic words to make all of this better but there's nothing that will take this pain away for now. Take your time to grieve, cry, yell, be sad take however long you need to feel better.

I know that feeling of wanting to get back on and try again, but I would say take your time. For me, my RE wouldn't let me come back until I had 2 full cycles. That's just how they were, at first I was upset, but I'm glad I waited.

I'll be for you and your family sweetie. Hang in there and we're here for you if you need us.

Thank you so much! We are trying to stay hopeful and positive between the tears. It's going to take time but I am ready to try again.

MrsM : I'm still thinking about you and can not believe this happened. Everything was coming along so well with your pregnancy. Its so unfair. *hugs* But I'm excited that you and your husband are looking forward to try again. Take time to heal physically and emotionally to prepare for your next baby or maybe even babies.

DH and I are scheduled to see our RE next month for the next step. We're probably going to end up doing Gonal-F IUI once again and if no success, we might consider doing IVF. Its already been a month since I loss my twins and I'm still spotting. Some days, the spottings are brown and some days they're pink-ish red. Its so frustrating!
We're taking some time off all these craziness and going on a cruise the end of this month.

Thank you so much Danielle! I think of you often too as our stories are similar and I remember how devastated I felt when your loss happened. I am still spotting, but it's only been 10 days, I hope that it will end soon and my real cycle will start. Wishing you all the best as well.....don't give up hope!!
