trying again after a loss at 24 weeks

My Husband and I lost are baby 4 months ago...I was 24 weeks pregnant. It was the worst experience I had ever been through.... even now. It took us 2 years to get pregnant with Dawson ,and then to loose him, it just does not seem fair. ..... We want to start trying again, actually I will be starting my first cycle of clomid in just a few days. Its very frustrating, and we are both scared....

Welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss and especially at 24 weeks. If you don't mind my asking, do you know what caused the loss? I wish you the best of luck as you start trying to conceive again. I'm about to join you in that same boat starting after AF arrives (due tomorrow). I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hi! Welcome to the site.

I am very sorry for your loss and can't even imagine what you and your family have gone through. Please know you are among friends, and we are here for you when ever you need us.

Baby making is a highly emotional processs and all of us have had more than our shares of scary thoughts. You are not alone.

I can tell you I conceived my son on my second round of Clomid, and found it to be quite painless compared to the other treatments some of us go through to conceive.

I wish you the best of luck. Let us know how we can help you.

Hi- I'm also new to this forum (haven't set up a signature yet). We lost our triplets - Avery, Oliver, and Thomas almost 3 months ago at 21w6d due to IC & PTL. They were absolutely perfect - just born too soon. That was our first pregnancy thanks to just 1 cycle of Clomid. After 2 AFs, we're trying again, and I did 100mg CD4-8 Clomid last week. This Friday (CD14) I'll have an US to see how many follicles are mature and hopefully get an HCG injection to release the egg(s). Trying to conceive after a loss - or in our case - 3 tragic losses - is SO HARD!!! However, I can't imagine that it will ever be easy. A part of us is forever gone. Of course we are scared, but we want so badly to be parents to children on earth in addition to our 3 beloved angels in Heaven. My desire to have more children outweighs my fear of losing another- so in that regard - I'm confident that we're ready to try again....

Wow, you ladies have been through so much. I know it would be hard to go to your first u/s and not hear a heartbeat, or to learn it's implanted in the wrong place, but my gosh, to carry a baby(s) past the 20 weeks mark to have it all taken away from you must have been more tragic than anyone can imagine. I give you both my utmost regards, hope for a successful pregnancy, and many well wishes. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh gosh ladies- I am so sorry! How horrible. The farthest I have made it is to 8 weeks. I can't imagine how you feel.

Of course each try is scary. I can't wait to try again yet I know I will be terrified. Still, this is what we want.

We are here for you when you want to talk.

I lost my daughter at 22 5/7 wks on 3/2/05. It was very hard to consider having a new baby but I did not want my DD to be alone so I waited almost a year before trying for another baby.

I just went into labor...I was having labor pains and then my water broke..by the time I got to the hopital the babys foot and umbilical cord had decended through my cervix. .... It was horrible.... a few weeks later they got the results back from the lab on the placenta...and determined it had an accute infection. Which triggered my labor.
We are trying again...but the I'm so scared

Verm26, you are a very brave, strong lady. I am so sorry for what you have just been through. I too am experiencing a missed miscarriage, however my little bean only made it to 5 1/2 weeks. (I'm 9 1/2 weeks and still no miscarriage) I thought this would break my heart forever, but what you are going through just makes me cry even harder.

But like you my DH and I are going to try again too. We really want a baby so its worth the fear of having a miscarriage. Do you know what caused this infection? In a way its good you know why it happened as next time the doctors will do everything in their power to avoid it again. That will hopefully give you some small peace of mind. In the meantime, I am grieving with you, and if you need to vent we are all here.

You all sound like such very strong ladies. Some people wouldn't survive such pain and loss. After loosing my baby at 8.5 weeks, I can't imagine loosing one so far along. My heart goes out to you and I admire your strength to try and become parents again.

Sondra, welcome to the forum. Ladies, I'm so sorry for all the losses. They aren't easy to take, especially after all the work that went into conception. All the years of waiting, all the failed treatments, then to have the success you've always dreamed of just to have life taken away from you by miscarriage. It's difficult but we all keep moving forward. The goal and dream remains the same, a precious baby to call our own. We'll get there, I know we will!

Verm26, I am so sorry about your loss. Well, what can I say… we dust off our bruised hinnies, (PIO joke) and get back on the proverbial horse. We lost two of our triplet pregnancy, I know exactly how you feel.Your fear is completely understandable. All will be well.

Thanks!

Thank you ladies for your responses! I know all will be well because we all deserve our prayers to be answered! And looking at the bright side we are still young so we still have time! I'm 29 and DH is 30. The only thing wrong is that my cycles are so irregular that I don't ovulate, but I believe my cervix is incompetent so with my next pregnancy my OB agreed to do a cerglage so maybe I will carry my baby full term! I am so excited to try again! I hope it won't take long! It took 4-5 months last time so hopefully I can be pregnant before Christmas!!!!! What a gift!!!!
