Just lost IVF twins, at 24 weeks, they lived 7 days

Hi,
I just lost IVF twins. Daniel and Andrew were born at 24 weeks after I was in the hospital for 5 weeks. Daniel loved four days and Andrew lived 7. I have been TTC for 9 years. I have lost three to mc but this was so much harder. I just picked out their headstone and today their birth certificates came!

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I can only imagine. I too have had a miscarriage but I can't imagine what it's like to have your children, hold them in your arms and lose them in such a short amount of time. My cousin actually just lost her son 7 days after birth as well due to strep B infection. She went into labor before they tested her for it and she had passed it on to the baby. Do they know what happened to your boys, why your labor started so early? Take the time you need to heal and to grieve, if you aren't ready to jump back in for a FET then don't. You need to be comfortable.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It is heartbreaking. May God give you and your family the strength to deal with the grief. I know what being pregnant for so long means and how much preparations you must have made for the babies. I would suggest to find out the root cause. Why this happened before even thinking about FET. Take your time. Hugs.

It takes my breath away to hear your very sad news. May you find peace and love with your DH and the rest of your family and know that your twins will take care of each other until you one day join them. Take it one day at a time ... you'll know when it's right to try FET. I'm so sorry for your loss

I am so very sorry about your loss. Please feel free to lean on us as much as you need. Don't feel pressured to do FET...like Jen said, take time to heal then do it when you are ready.

Feeling your pain

MY heart bleeds for you and your dh. I am soo sorry that you had to experience this. My husband lost one of his twin boys at 5 months and all i can say from watching him is it is ok to hurt, be scared, cry, be mad and process what is happening. It will take time and if you feel that you are ready to try again then you should and it is perfectly ok to be scared. My dh is still nervous with us trying and it has been 3 yrs. so we just talk about it and pray that God keeps us all and our children close. You will never be with out them and we are all here for you to lean on. best of luck and all our sympothy.

Thank you

Thank you for you comforting words. As to the cause, they really don't know. They THINK I have an incompetant cervix. They also think it could have been because of being pregnant with twins. They want to try again with 1 embryo and put in a cerclage at 14 weeks. I see the RE on the 26th.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I just experienced an early miscarriage, and the pain is nearly unbearable. I can't imagine what you and your DH are going through. My thoughts are with you, your family and your twins.
