I've seen a few people who are TTCing talk about taking Robitussin..... and I can't for the life of me figure out why!!!

What's the connection to fertility and ttcing????

Its an expectorant which works by thinning the mucus - ALL the mucus in your body. If mucus is thinner, sperm have less work to do.

I believe the only Robitussin "version" they recommend is the "Chest Congestion Expectorant" specifically with "GUAIFENESIN" listed on the label. I've tried it (and keep some on my desk at work!) and it really did work for me as far as thinning things out goes.

You need to take Guaifenesin. It the active ingredient in Robitussin, plain Robitussin. You can also buy any generic cough expectorant with guaifenesin. Just as long as it is plain. It thins all secretions. It is recommended to take 2Tbsp every 4-6 hours 3-4 days before ovulation. I take it twice a day only and start about 6 hours before sex, cuz I hate the taste!

That's cool, i might have to try it this time!!! Hopefully I'll be doing the trigger shot tomorrow or tuesday...so that should give me enough time to get it in my system. Is it recommended for everyone? Or can it be bad for you in certian cases?

Any other ideas?

I tried the pinapple last time and the pre-seed and it worked.

I've also been doing the whole milk thing.

They say grapefruit juice helps with CM too. I bought some in the past and just can't choke it down...yuck!

eww i don't like grapefruit juice either. But maybe it's worth a try. How much and how often are you supposed to drink it?

Green tea also helps with increasing CM. I used the tussin with my second pregnancy per my bff ;and I'm going to start trying it again now.
