"Taking Charge of Your Fertility"

I started by checking this book out from my local library and loved it so much that I bought it a week later. It has been like my bible through this whole ordeal. It is so informative and helpful throughout your whole cycle. It expains things to me in a way that I can undertstand. It might not be able to guarantee a pregnancy, but it definetly has given me the confidence to know about what is going on with my body and what signs to look for during ovulation. I would recommend this book to anybody at any stage of their IF battle. Happy reading girls!

I didn't drink the koolaid but it is a good book. LOL I had no idea that temping was so beneficial. Even when we are not actively TTC, I still like to temp!

taking charge of your fertility

I found her book at the Goodwill & picked it up hoping it'd worked for someone else LOL!

I've been tracking on and off for about 2 years. I tracked religiously for about six months. What I can't understand is though, if bbt tracking is so important, why is it that I've yet to meet a doctor who's remotely interested in even taking a glance at them? I've moved recently, but neither the fertility doctors I went to in Toronto, nor an ob/gyn I saw here thought they were worth it.

One thing I'd had NO idea about, that I found useful in the book however, was everything about CM... Still though...

This book is awesome...talks about everything...just wish I had taken it's advice and went in for testing between 6 mos and a year instead of waiting until cycle number 22...then maybe I'd be instead of just now looking down the long road to ART.

I have read a few great books that I found very helpful on our TTC journey...the first was "Getting Pregnant Naturally" by Winifred Conkling...it goes through all different ways to try and boost fertility without drugs...I found it helpful in the beginning of our trying.

The book I was finished was "In Vitro Fertlization The A.R.T. of Making Babies" and it was so informative...it provides so much info into IVF and other ART procedures

This forum honestly has been my biggest help through it all...the woman here are very educated and have done their homework...it helps to be able to talk with others going through the same things

I swore I would not read an actual "pregnancy" book until we got our but DH bought me "Belly Laughs" by Jennie McCarthy and I read it...bad me...and it was so funny....it is a good pick me up prego book and tells you all of the gross and annoying parts of pregnancy....it made me laugh and right now laughter is the best medicine (well after my IF drugs) ha ha ha

I love this book too...I got it before I got married because we planned to use charting/temping to avoid pregnancy before we were ready instead of using BCP. What I found wonderful was that, even as educated as I am, there are still a lot of things I didn't even know about that go on in my own body!

My DH and I were so proud of ourselves and the book when we "avoided" pregnancy by using the methods outlined in the book. As you can see from my siggy, it wasn't this method that kept us from achieving pregnancy. Even so, I think it's a great book with tons of information. It was the first place I read that there is actually hope for people like us, with zero sperm.
