Thanks Kelli! I pretty much ONLY feed the babies, pump for the babies, and try to eat and sleep myself. Last night I got less than three hours of sleep between the feedings and pumping. I took a nap this morning, but I'm still functioning on very, very little sleep. If I have any extra time I might do one or two small things around the house or shower. DH is being pretty great about doing the other stuff so I can pump, but there's still an awful lot that's just falling by the wayside. When my sisters are with us they do some cleaning, so that's pretty much the only time that happens. I hear my MIL also does that and she's coming next week. We'll need her to help with the feedings too, though, especially the overnight ones, and I'm not sure how well she'll do with her sleep schedule messed up so much, but we'll see. I'll be here all day everyday all week long with her, so wish me luck! She's very nice, almost too nice, especially compared to me. We get along, but it'll still be weird and a little stressful having her here, but she's offered to help and we're taking up everyone on those offers! We also have lots of people bringing us meals every other day, which is awesome, and also people that come help with just one feeding when I'm here by myself otherwise. Ask me again when all the help stops!
Rosie - A friend (with triplets) uses the Bumbo seats in the bathtub. With just one it's a little easier to keep at least one hand on her, but wet babies are so darn slippery these are nice to help keep them upright in the tub. Our 4:00 feeding is coming up. The pre-meal diaper changes should be pretty fun: the babies are sleeping around me, but all are grunting and I can hear them farting and filling their diapers. Yay.

Kelli - We usually swaddle with some big 36" x 36" flannel receiving blankets someone made for us, but we do have three Swaddle Me fleece blankets. Since they're fleece and it hasn't been that cold (until today) we haven't used them much yet. Our babies like to have their arms free, so if they're half asleep we swaddle them with their arms out. Otherwise they wake themselves all the way up by trying to get their arms out. One time that we used the Swaddle Me blankets Meredith was trying to get her arms out but couldn't and instead ended up completely inside the blanket with it up over her head. She was fine, just upset. We used them the other night and taped the bottom of the leg pouch to make it shorter so it doesn't happen again. Instead, Joseph got his legs out but was still securely wrapped in the arm part. I don't understand how they do all this in their sleep!
Otherwise, the Swaddle Me's seem to work OK and the fleece is really soft. We still like the big receiving blankets best, but our house is old so we'll be using the fleece Swaddle Me's more over the winter to make sure everyone stays warm enough.

I'm still here.... but very busy, as I'm sure you all are. Arden has had a bad (well I think it's bad) cold since friday. She's so congested and isn't sleeping well. She usually only wakes up twice a night but has been up at least 6 times a night since she got the cold. Just wanting some comfort. I've taken her into our bed around 4am the last couple nights, just to get some rest myself! Other than that she's growing well... getting stronger at her head control and sitting up assisted and laughing a lot (when she's not feeling so rotten). She's still not a great napper, which frustrates me sometimes. But the time is flying by and I figure everything will just keep getting better.
Kelli, sorry to hear the boys have diarrhea. Hope they feel better soon. Is it keeping them up more at night? How's work going? Rosie and Cathi, hope you're both doing well and enjoying your babies a lot, in the middle of all the hard work. Joanna, how's the pregnancy? How much time off are you going to be able to take? Any showers planned? Well, Arden's awake and hungry after her very short nap. Hope you are all well! Thinking of you all!

Hi Everyone. The pregnancy is getting better. I'm 15 weeks today. The m/s has pretty much stopped and I'm feeling a bit better. Still have some blah feelings but at least I can eat now. I feel like there is so much to do and we haven't started anything yet. We just started looking at the baby name book but aren't even close to coming up with anything. Six months is going to fly by.
Kelli how are the boys feeling? I hope the diarrhea has stopped. Colleen I hope Arden is feeling a little better. It's so sad when they are sick and they can't tell you what is bothering them. As for time off from work. I know I get 6-8 weeks maternity (depending on C-sec. or natural) and I'm going to use vacation time. If I go out before hand on disability I get full pay since I've been at my company for so long, which is a good thing. I may also take some FLMA. I haven't thought it all through yet. When I go in for my next OB appointment on the 19th, I'm going to mention my job to the dr. I don't think he knows I commute to the city every day. Hopefully he will have me go out at least a month before. I don't want to give birth on the train. As for showers, I'm not planning anything. The only thing I'm going to do is give my family as list of who should be invited. Hopefully this time they will actually be able to surprise me. At my Bridal Shower I saw my SIL walk into my cousin's backyard. Dead giveaway since they didn't really know each other. LOL Hope everyone else is doing okay and getting some much needed rest.

Just checking in
![]() Our boy's are getting big - I just went through all the clothes the other day and had to put all their newborn size items in a "to small" tote. It was kind of bittersweet, Im happy they are getting bigger and more interactive with us, but at the same time - I love them being so small We are having issues with reflux - I can't wait until it goes away !!! Hows everyone and their babies doing ?? Joanna .. Are you getting excited to finally see your baby again on ultrasound ? Any intution on the gender ? Are you showing yet ???

Hi Kelli: I am looking forward to seeing the baby again. I'm hoping the doctor does an u/s this time. Last time they just checked the doppler. If he doesn't I'm going to ask him to. I can't wait until November for the Level II sono to see the baby. That's too long.
No intuition on gender although I have been saying "him" a lot. Maybe that's just because we really have no boys in the family and everyone is saying that's what I'm going to have. LOL I've started to show although since a lot of the bloating has gone away I feel like my stomach has gotten smaller. That was nerve racking in itself. I'm going to have to start taking some pics so I can post them. I'm glad to hear the boys are getting bigger and more interactive. It's a bitter sweet time, like you said. They are so cute when they are so small. Hopefully the reflux will take care of itself and go away soon.

Our three outgrew their newborn stuff, too. It fits perfectly for a few days and then is suddenly too small. But the 0-3 stuff is still too big, so the legs are all floppy. Oh well, it's good that they're growing so well. At their appt on Monday Joseph weighed 9#7oz, Elizabeth was 9#6oz, and Meredith, who used to be the smallest, weighed the same as Joseph. She's a voracious eater who is going through a growth spurt and eating all the time, while he has reflux so feeding him is a struggle. He's getting better the last couple days, though. Not sure if it's the Zantac kicking in, our friend the speech therapist's recommendations, or the new Dr. Brown bottles. As of last Monday, Meredith was the only one with an audible heart murmur, so I took her for another echocardiogram this morning (at 7!). She doesn't have any issues because of it, so my guess is that it's smaller just not yet closed.
Joanna - I'm so glad you're feeling better! Yes, the next few months will fly by, but remember to enjoy them and don't stress out about the unimportant stuff.

Hey ladies....how are you all? Sorry to have been MIA....but I have been sick all week with a cold and horrible fever. The fever made me so darn sick...I could barely pick up my head. **** it is hard to take care of a baby when you are sick!
Olivia is doing well, sleeping great at night but not the naps....she screams for naptime...not pleasant and if she doesn't nap she is sooo cranky..so a tough situation for mommy. But now I put her down every day and try a nap...she is sleeping right now...AND the landscapers are here....I hope to God they do not wake her up or I might go out there and kick their butts! Joanna - I am so glad that you are feeling better! I knew you would...get ready for the great feeling part of being pregnant! I loved those months. I can't wait to see some pics of your belly. I read your post on FB about swine flu....what happened?? Kelli - the boys are getting so big. I can't believe it when I see their pics. Hey Rosie. Go kick some landscaper butt. LOL.
As for the swine flu, my aunt passed away last week and we were at the wake on Tuesday night. My cousin was in from Arizona. On Wednesday when I got home from work, my mom told me that they diagnosed him with swine flu that morning. Lovely since he hugged everyone in the family. Needless to say I didn't go to the wake on Wednesday but I did go to the funeral on Thursday and he was there. He pretty much stayed away from me but he was hugging everyone else goodbye. Not sure what he or his mom were thinking. The good thing is he wasn't sneezing or coughing so hopefully I will be okay. When I mentioned to his mom that he didn't look sick at the wake she said he wasn't feeling well but they had filled him up on meds to make him feel better. Hopefully that helped. There is a 1-7 incubation period but they say normal is around 4-5. Tonight will be day 4 for me. So far all I have are my normal allergies. Hopefully that is all I will get. I decided not to deal with my doctors and get the Tamiflu yet. My OB wanted me to take it as a precautionary measure but why take any chances. I would rather just wait to see if I get symptoms. I'm sure today is going to be tough on you and DH. Hopefully you will remember all the good times and continue to celebrate her life. I'm sure she wouldn't want you to be sad.

Joanna, I just noticed you find out the babies gender next week !!! The 11th was the day of my successful ER
For some reason I keep reminesing about this time last year - How is everyone doing ? Cathi, how are those babies coming along ? How big are they getting ... Our babies have hit the 4 month mark, Klayton has rolled over - Carter not quite yet but almost. I just realized that I have written nothing in their babybook for the last month ! I let Carter stay all night with my parents this last week for the night, can we say ANXIETY STRICKEN !! I thought it would be this fun time to have just one baby and sleep more during the night - all I did was miss him and worry. Taylor and I are planning a weekend getaway for the middle of December, the babies will be almost 6 months and will be the first time we will have been without babies .. Im excited but anxious about it at the same time.

The babies are somewhere between 11-12 pounds. Joseph was last weighed on 10/12 and was 10#3oz at that point. He's still growing the slowest because of his reflux issues, but he's getting better and eating more and more.
Meredith has a slight fever that started yesterday. When she fell asleep during her meals and didn't chug her bottle I knew something was wrong. My sister was in town this week and started feeling sick on Monday night. By Wed she was bedridden. We actually sent her home, and felt like HUGE jerks because of it, but we just can't take a chance with the babies' health. Hopefully Meredith doesn't get any sicker. She's been sleeping most of today and yesterday, up and alert for a little while last night. I slept on the couch with her last night to keep her from the other two. They've all been exposed to my sister's germs and Meredith's, but maybe by limiting it going forward we can keep them healthy. Aside from that everything is going well. We've had more family come to help, but I've also been on my own more and more. Everyone gets fed, including me, but the house is a disaster. DH's sisters are here this weekend and are working on the cleaning. Yay! Joanna - What do you have cooking in there??

Kelli - Wow 4 months. Time really flies by. Yeah for planning that weekend getaway. You deserve a little time to yourselves. I know you will probably be calling home every hour but hopefully you will enjoy yourselves a little bit.
Cathi - Sorry your sister got Meredith sick. Don't feel like a jerk for sending her home. Those babies are too fragile to take any chances with. After all you have been through, you deserve to be able to tell people to stay away. I can't imagine what your life must be like with three little ones by yourself. Don't worry about the house. Lately I just tell everyone "as long as my toilet is clean in case I get sick, I don't care what the rest of the house looks like. I'm just too darn tired". AFM things are moving right along. I will be 20 weeks on Thursday. On Wednesday we go for the Level II sonogram but we are not going to find out what we are having unless someone screws up and tells us. Today I officially became 40 and pregnant. Who would have thunk? LOL
