Hello ladies. Yesterday I received the horrible news, it has been a very sad couple of days for me and I must say that reading and posting on these threads has helped me more than anything else. I have a lot of support from family and friends but have had trouble talking to any of them. I feel they CAN'T possibly understand any of what I feel, but, on here, I have been able to express myself openly and feel very comfortable sharing my thoughts, fears, questions, etc. Okay so I thought that unfortunately I am NOT the only one that received the bad news. I thought that maybe some of the others would like to share their thoughts, views, questions, fears, or anything at all during this tough time. I thank everyone who gave me kind words to help me w/this sorrow, and I know it has truly helped.
So............. Maybe we can help each other here.
I still have so many questions that over time, I hope to know the answers to, and I'm sure that others feel that way also, so here, I started it and hopefully any one else can get some more support if they feel they want it.

I agree with you about the level of understanding with family and friends. They do feel bad but they dont quite understand what we go through. It's more than just the emotions, it's the whole ordeal leading up to it, the meds, the procedures, it just consumes your life and it makes the disappoinment that much harder. There were quite a few of us last week who are feeling this pain. Great ideat to start this thread!

Good morning Nicki, how are you today? You must've tested just a few days before me since your transfer was 3 days before mine. I'm truly sorry for you.
Today I feel bitter. I can't believe there's nothing left to do for this cycle, the meds are away, going to work tomorrow, don't want to, but must, and I feel like it's over, it is this time.
As much as I hated the shots, they were something to look forward to in this long journey.
Did you get AF yet? I did not. I think that is the reason I'm in such a crappy mood, partly anyway.
It's a beautiful day out and DM wants to go out and do something. I've got to get myself motivated and try to enjoy somehow.

So, I will start getting ready so that this isn't another day shot to hell and wasted. I must say that I really did enjoy being alone yesterday, I needed it.
I will hopefully get to set up an appt with the RE for next week since I'm on vacation, don't want to use anymore days. Hopefully I can save them for another cycle.
What is your plan?

Just wanted to sympathize with you ladies, I think I got my BFN a few day's before you guy's. I was pretty miserable the last couple day's before my BETA, I knew it didnt work. Now, I'm trying to focus on this next cycle. We didnt have any embryo's left to freeze so we get to do the whole thing over again. I started taking Royal Jelly and B6. I never really looked into the holistic side of infertility, so this time Im seeing what else I can do to help this next IVF cycle out

I'm going to start accupunture sometime soon... I already feel more optimistic about the next cycle. Hopefully my body will agree with me !! Are you ladies looking into more cycle's ?

Hi Kelli, I'm so sorry for you too, what a long struggle!!!!!!!!!

I felt the same way too. I tested a couple of days before my BFN (I shouldn't have) on the POAS and it was negative, I knew that day but tried to keep the faith. I was miserable on and off since the POAS. My boobs were never sore either. I gave up caffeine completely so they weren't even sore for PMS. It's crazy all of the symptoms you feel, is it preg, or PMS, is it preg, or PMS, or POI reaction, your body is just so out of whack, my DM said I can't possibly know what the symptoms meant, but I still thought I knew my body and that AF wanted to come, she still hasn't and that's why I have this intense PMS, Growl!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelli, I don't have any Icebabies either so it's start from scratch for me too, but now we are experienced girls.
I was wondering about the royal jelly, and what about DHEA? I was also thinking about the acupuncture. Is the B6 supposed to help, and how? please tell.

I am hoping for an appt week after next w/RE, and hoping to do another cycle ASAP, at my age I don't have time to wait around

From what I've read, B6 just help's balance hormone's. It's supposed to help the body metabolize insulin better which goes hand in hand with everything else in your body. In my case, I have PCOS so I have issues with insulin. It's also supposed to help reduce depression, one article called it a natural depression blocker ? And they are alway's saying how stress can interfere with fertility, so there's another plus !

I don't know what DHEA is ?

I know holistic measure's can only do so much, but used in conjuction with IVF ... I think it can only better the chance

I have heard that acupuncture has been used in alot of successful IVF's

Kelli and Nicki, what state do you live in? I am in NY. My Re is rated #2 in NY Magazine, he's been in there year after year.

Im from Iowa. Our clinic is at the University of Iowa Hospital. Our RE's claim to fame is they say they have one of the best FET's stat's in the country. Needless to say they can have all the stat's in the world, I just want to have a BFP !!

that's right, we need to be included in the POSITIVE stats. How did you find them, did anyone you know use them before and recommend them to you?

I had an HSG done in Jan., & it was inconclusive basically. I had it done at another facility, because at the time, my insurance covered better there. It turned into a nightmere ! \it out to be pretty much worthless. The reading doctor at that facility stated he thought my tubes were blocked but our RE's office went over my film's with other doctors and they say they don't think they are blocked, that they just did not much enough dye through.
At the time I thought there was no way I could go through that again ..

I've been wondering if I should have the test repeated at RE's clinic. We could alway's try IUI if they are not truely blocked ... It's cheaper and not as involved with the injections .. BUT, I think IVF has a higher success rate ?

What would you girl's do ? It would be kind of nice to know if there were ever to be a CHANCE of getting pregnant without IVF at some point in my life ... But then again, the HSG was almost worse than my entire IVF process ..

I guess it goes by a case to case basis. I tried IUI 3 times, I have no blockage, and ALL of my tests have come out normal, my age is my problem. I failed all of them, so for me, IVF seems to have better chances, that's what I think I should do because my time is running out at 42. I paid for every IUI out of pocket and I really don't have the money for IVF, but I have had some help financially and am hoping that I will get some more help for round 2, my insurance covers NONE of it, no fertility coverage. That's my situation.

That makes thing's so difficult ! It's stressful enough, let alone having to worry about the money end of it. My insurance cover's lab's and diagnositic's only. However, my husband's insurance cover's anything but has a 25,000 cap. I'm already nervous about running that out.
I had to wait about 5 month's to do our first IVF because of waiting for coverage ...
I wish everyone had coverage !!

Hi ladies! I stopped in here to check on you all. You're all in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time.

Years ago when I was on BCP's as a preventative measure I had horrible mood swings. Poor DH noticed more than I did. My nurse practitioner said that the pill interferes with the body's absorption of vitamin B, so she suggested I take a B supplement of 25-50mg. In addition to whatever Kelli has found about hormone levels, it also helps regulate moods. Man, did it ever help! That would be a nice bonus with the hormone balancing through the IVF roller coaster.

Kelli - The stats I hear thrown around are that IUI has a 20% success rate each time and IVF is closer to 50% with each attempt. I know what you mean about hoping to someday get pregnant without the circus of IVF. Sure would be nice!

Hi Casb77, those statistics are encouraging with the IVF. I will be watching for your on Wednesday, I will say a for great numbers!
