Do I have a chance at IUI if I failed IVF?

I wanted to get an opinion about what I should do? I have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I went through 2 fresh cycles and 1 frozen cycle of IVF. I have a maximum on my health insurance so I went with the most successful treatment first. As I went through the cycles, the doctor said both went perfectly and I had high quality blastocysts to transfer each time. I got low betas of 5.5 and not anything higher... My question is this? I found out that I can pretty much do as many IUIs as I want and it doesn't come out of my lifetime maximum. Do you think I have any chance of success with IUI if IVF didn't work?

I am sorry to hear about your frustration with the failed attempts.

I have seen women who have had mulitple IUIs and IVFs before seeing a BFP. I think the success of IVF is greatest compared to IUI if there is a tubal blockage or ovulation problem. IUIs are often used for male factor problems (with donor sperm often) or along with medications such as Clomid to increase egg production if the problem is female in origin.

I am assuming you have already had HSG etc if your IF is unexplained.

Were your IUI cycles medicated? If not that may make a difference especially if you can try multiple times with your insurance. The nice thing about the IUIs is they are less invasive, less meds need to be taken and they can be done monthly.

I have been tested for everything... Even went through immune testing and nothing can be found... I never tried IUI... I went right to IVF... I guess I am doing it in opposite order just wondering if it is worth it to try the IUI if IVF is not working?
