Has anyone have any comments or suggestions on what i should do(read below)?
my wife and i have went thr 4 ivf's with icsi. All failed for one reason or another. Her fsh is high so we figured that should be on to egg donation. We did so and they did pgd, and the embroyos were abnormal. We are trying it again with donor egg, but I have a feeling that this will not work again. I think there is any issue with me, even though we had 4 SA's and they all showed up okay with no major issues. I do have abnormal morphology, but i understand that icsi takes care of this?? my urologist had looked at everything, and one thought was that it could be a vericole...but doesn't icsi take care of any problems that result from that? |

ISCI does normally take care of the morphology issue. Morphology is the shape of the sperm and with ICSI they take the sperm into a needle and inject the sperm into the egg rather then waiting for the sperm to fertilize the egg naturally. Especially with head deformities it makes the penetration of the egg's shell almost impossible. My husband too has poor morpholgy, was 1% then up to 8% at last check (a year ago). However, earlier in the year we both took Fertility Blend from GNC and the Men's suppliment says it helps to improve morphology. Obviously it helped us, we've been pregnant twice this year alone after everything else we went through failed. Hope this helps!

Hello
We are kind of in the same situation as you and your wife. We went through 3 IVF's...all failed and we were deemed to have poor egg quality (my FSH is elevated also). We used ICSI as well...which, as Jen said...will take care of issues with the sperm (speed, shape, swimming ability, etc.). However, it does not help sperm quality issues as far as the DNA goes. Have you heard of the Dr. Oz's (he's on Oprah all the time) Discovery Health Channel "The Truth About Food" series? I was completely blown away by one of their studies. Not only were they looking at the quality used in the "typical" measurements, but their goal was to study and improve the DNA quality of the sperm. So if you think about it...the sperm get assistance with entering the egg from ICSI, but in order for a viable embryo to develop...the sperms DNA quality has to be in top shape also. Long story short...the best way to improve and protect sperm DNA quality from free radicals that damage cells is to eat foods high in antioxidants. My DH would only eat apples and an occasional banana. Now he's eating anything I tell him is high in antioxidants He is also taking Fertility Blend for Men to help the "typical" measurements. Here are some of the foods/drinks that are high in antioxidants: Pomegranate/juice (POM Wonderful), Kiwi, berries, spinach, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pecans, broccoli, red grapes, carrots, green tea, soy, kidney beans, pinto beans, artichokes, prunes, red delicious and gala apples, whole grains. I wish you all the best! ![]()

After our failed IVF we also went through karyotype testing to check for any chromosomal abnormalities since everything looked great and then the embryos started to show signs of distress. They grew very slow and arrested early. He said he wouldn't have known we were two healthy 20 somethings by looking at our embryos, he would have thought us to be older and of poor health. So that is always another venue to try but it was pretty expensive for us. I hope you have insurance!
