Prolactinoma

I was diagnosed with a microadenoma on my pituitary gland a little over a year ago. I have been ttc for a year and 4 months. I am currently on Bromocriptine and my levels hadn't quite reached normal as of March so I upped my dosage. I am currently awaiting results of a blood test to see where my prolactin level is at. I would like to know of success rates of conception for those with this condition. Thanks.

I got my bloodwork back and I am still a little high. I have upped my dosage of Bromocriptine once again. Hopefully this will bring my levels into the normal range.

Have you been ovulating regularly? I know that before I took bromo, my cycles would be anywhere from 5-7 weeks, since being on it, I am relatively regular, 30-33 day cycles. The bromo has my levels down to around 5, so my RE took me off to check my levels after 2 weeks and the levels were up to 45, so I am back on now. I absolutely hate the s/e on this stuff, after being off of it I went through the whole transition period again this week (nausea, dizzy, etc). I hope upping your dose will do the trick.

Bromo

Thank you, I hope it works also. My cycles have been really long. I have been tracking my bbt and it shows a clear rise in temperature in my cycles however I have no idea when that temperature rise is going to happen. My cycles have been from 65 days to 38 days with in betweens. I did talk to my fertility doctor, not my endocrinologist, about starting Clomid on my next cycle. I am on day 29 and still no sign of a temp rise so we'll see when my next cycle may happen. I have been really fortunate with the s/e of bromo thank goodness. Can you reduce the amount you are taking and still maintain a normal level? Just curious... I started at 2.5 mg went to 3.75 and now at 5.0... The first two brought my levels down to 26.6 so we will see if the 5 mg brings it down more. Good Luck to you!
Andi
