Bicornate Septum, please help... I'm new
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site and I"m very sad and very confused. I don't know where else to turn and I am completely lost on everything I"ve been told. I have just had my first baby this year, but during the delivery, they discovered he was breech and did an emergency C-section b/c my water had been broke for a number of hours and they were worried about my umbilical cord being flushed out. Anyways during the c-section the doctor said he was breech b/c I have a septum a 1/3 the size of my uterus. I had to wait till I was done nursing for them to test me and tell me more. First has anyone else had this septum problem? Was it easy to fix by surgery? How was the surgery and recover time? Does the surgery make you infertile? And were you able to conceive and have no other problems during the pregnancy? So far my Doctor has ordered an HSG and then said I"d need a refferal for an RE? What's an RE? Do all septums have to be fixed? My Doctor is talking like I"m lucky to have had a baby and with mild complications. And now it sounds like she wants my to work with fertility doctors like I have a problem. I know nothing of this issue and I don't know if she's saying I had a miracle baby and will from now on have difficulty or miscarriages or what... Please help, I don't know what to think. I know I am very blessed to even have my son, so I'm not complaining, but I would like to know what I'm in for in the furture . He had torticollis when he was born b/c he was stuck, and I feel guilty that it was my uterus, my body that did that to him. It is treatable, but for some reason I felt like I did something wrong. Any advice..? Thanks so much in advance. Nicole |

Nicole,
You had no idea about septum existence until you had your baby. So, stop feeling bad, you were just ignorant of this issue; Based on my research lot of people come to know about septum if they had c-section. Based on my research so far I believe it was advised to get the septum resection vs leaving it. Congragulations! on the arrival of your baby

Gems, you will be thankful you had it removed. Especially if you get pregnant with more than one. Good luck to you!
