Anyone in Georgia, going through IVF?

I found an older thread, but it hasn't been visited in months and some of the women have moved on, gotten pregnant or stopped posting all together so I figured I'd start a new one.

So anyone else doing an IVF in Georgia? Would love to chat with others while we're going through this!

Hi Indie,
I am also in GA, Atlanta to be more specific. I am actually in limbo right now. I have an upcoming lap scheduled for 2 weeks from today that I am not looking forward to but am happy to be at least moving forward. So at this point I'm unsure of when I will be cycling again but I'm pretty sure it won't be until at least mid-summer.
I started my journey last year at RBA and have now moved on to GRS. My doctor there is Carolyn Kaplan.
What office are you going to?

I am at GRS and my Dr is also Carolyn Kaplan. I like her....and her nurse I chose GRS because they had an ongoing study that I qualified for. RBA had one as well, but it was a bit riskier for me....so I chose GRS. I'm glad I did, I really like the staff and their office...etc.

Wow, you've had a long journey (your signature). So do you have a general idea on when that FET will be? Good luck with your embabies

Yay, another Progesterone study buddy I started BCP's last week, ER should be somewhere around 6/2. I'm not looking forward to those daily trips on stim week since it's 2 hours away....but we all do what we have to do LOL

I know... we are in Dahlonega so it takes me about an hour to get to the Alpharetta office and about an hour and a half to the Atlanta one. Let me know how you feel on Lupron. I'm very anxious about having the mood swings.

I will be going through IVF in Georgia as soon as they match me with a donor.

I'm just up over the boarder in NC, but Atlanta is right down the road, and that's where my RE is.

IMagicCat: That'll be cool. I donated eggs 9 years ago, now I'm using my own I hope you get matched soon....why did you choose a GA clinic over one in NC? I know there are some good ones in SC, but I've never read anything about the NC clinics...maybe there aren't many? Here where I live (right at the Chattanooga, TN line) there is only 1 clinic and they don't have great recommendations.

Kinz: I took Lupron when I donated I think? I don't remember too many mood swings on any of the meds...I really think that it depends a lot on the person. Some people have major mood swings and others don't even know. It's been 9 years since my donation though, so who knows what the shots will do to me now LOL So you'll start BCP's in June...right?

KandyGurl: Still around? So what exactly is the Lap procedure? I'm not up on all the procedures, so I like to ask So once that is over, what kind of wait time do they set before beginning a cycle? I see you mentioned mid summer....so July maybe? That's really not too far away....time flies!

LaurenGator: So what steps do you have to take to go through a donor cycle with your sister? I'm assuming you both have to be on the same AF cycle to make this work? I don't really remember too much about when I donated (it has been 9 years ...LOL), but I remember it had to be coordinated with the couple getting the eggs, just not sure exactly how it was coordinated. It all seemed to fly by....is your process pretty quick as well?

Anu: So you have 2 frozen embabies! How exciting....when will you be thawing them? Well ! How did the first cycle go for you? I mean I know you're going through an FET now....but did any of the fresh embryo's take? Was the medicine hard to deal with? Any tips for us that are waiting to go through a fresh cycle? I'm assuming your meds for FET are a bit less intensive?

Well, it's so nice to know that other people are going to GRS! I'm still on BCP's and will start Lupron on the 15 I think? I got my calendar yesterday and will get my meds on Wednesday....wow were they expensive! LOL I'll try to get a list going, so it'll be easy to follow along with everyone at GRS, maybe we'll run in to each other during our visits too!
